Description

Secret No More...
Take South Frontage Road and turn Left on Ox Bow Road and proceed to these coordinates - 33.5951483, -114.5366399

Proceed to 33.5867735, -114.5408120 in 2 steps. There are several other sites here, but IMHO this is the best with water access and wildlife right outside your front door or tent flap.
If you attempt to input the 2nd coordinates for the actual camp into the Google Maps app, it will direct you to go into California and swim across the Colorado River to get to camp. I would not suggest doing that for obvious reasons which happen to include why you shouldn't be using Google Map in the 1st place, coincidentally
The road in can get wash boarded at times, but far from undrivable. Some sites have some garbage in them, but again, not bad and most are pretty clean. There is boating ramp  access at 1st coordinates and, to some degree a canoe or kayak could be launched, as well, at the 2nd coordinates.
Plenty of space to maneuver for big rigs (mine is a 40' desiel pusher). Faint highway noise is noticeable during quiet hours. Gas and desiel available under 3 miles away at the Flying J Travel Center, which may have showers, that also contains a Wendys, with several other eateries only short distances away in the small town of Ehrenberg or the slightly larger town of Blythe (50 miles to Walmart in Parker, But the Prime Leaf dispensery and other fine businesses are in Blythe. Lol). Fire agates can be found in the sand dunes for Rockhounds and fish/ducks in the water for anglers/hunters. Verizon signal is here, but weak, with 1 bar for data and voice. To the best of my knowledge, the Army Corp of Engineers constructed this road.
Enjoy this highly recommended, slow p
