Description

This track is not "Northern". there's another track to the north where all locals go. it will take you all the way to the Edge. check on the map.

If you want to reach the Edge of the World by this track, you will find here the first double wall between two small canyons. There are three walls in total. So you are not able to pass. We drove with the quad bike. You can also walk (5 km). The track in total is quite bumpy. We took this track (northern) because we heard they blocked the official southern road. I think they did it because of accidents. We saw one car in the canyon.

Latest Check-Ins

We went there late evening with our Mitsubishi Pajero and made it over all three barriers. Second barrier is the worst and i assume without 4x4 and diff lock it would not be possible. We camped right at the edge, but in the morning maybe 1h after sunrise police appeared and told us to leave.
I had a chat with them because there is no sign at all how far you allowed to drive. They told me you are allowed to dive right before the 2nd barrier. You can park the car there and walk approx the rest 1.5 km to the edge. They said there will be a sign soon. The policemen were very friendly (like always is KSA)

We tried to take the real northern route but the rangers didn‘t let us pass - so we took this route with the barriers.
We made it over all 3 barriers with our Toyota Hilux without problems. High ground clearance and 4wd is needed!
If you make it over the barriers you can drive to the Edge of the World and camp there. Beautiful views at sunrise & sunset.
During sunset a lot of guided tours with tourists will come to join you. They leave after sunset.
Not recommended at or after rainy days.

Report Check-In

as mentioned there are three walls on this route. you can bypass the first one. the second one is the worst actually. we made it through on a nissan patrol. there were many locals at the edge and they took the actuall nothern route. this one is not nothern route as someone wrote here in the comments.

Report Check-In

If you enter this area, you'll see the wall immediately, but there's a detour, if you'll keep right.
You'll see a narrow path down. This one is really bumpy and steep, but many offroaders drove there to get closer to the Edge Of The World. We didn't do it with our Sprinter.
So, 4x4 with lots of ground clearance and low gear could be necessary.

Report Check-In

We wouldn’t recommend going to the edge of the world as it’s illegal. It is closed until further notice from the government
