Description

*Overnight camping/parking is NOT permitted at this location.
.....
If you’re waiting for the ski resort to open or are at Shasta during the winter and all the forest roads are impossible to drive this is the best place to be imo. The baseball field parking is listed as an overnight parking location for when snow operations are active (along with several other spots around town, imo this is the best chill). Super quiet, not a ton of houses around. Longer bus/ rv would probably be fine. Bathrooms were locked in winter. Spent 3 nights here in late December. Might be fine for a night even when there’s no snow- please update if you do stay here without snow. Will update if they plow here or if we’re going to be digging out ourselves.

No parking sings (10pm - 6am)
Bummer. Would have been a great spot, but I don’t want to get the knock.

Report Check-In

in the summer months, sprinklers for the field come on around 1/2am and do spray the parking lot so keep your windows closed !

sign says 96hrs max. 4 or 5 other van's and a couple campers. quiet and peaceful. stayed one night, no issues 🤟

Parking lot, a couple long term overnighters here.

I'm staying here now. Been here three days now with my truck and travel trailer. Trailer unhitched and fully set up. Great spot! Has been very quiet and peaceful. There are a few other cars and vans parked here. It's a close walk to downtown. Thankful for spots like these!

We pulled in after dark. Local police drove around and left everyone alone (all 4 vehicles). The morning had clear skies with a view of Shasta. If you’re facing the baseball field the mountain is behind you in case you want to park a particular way. Definitely recommend this spot. Bathrooms were not open.

Pulled in after dark..saw just a few other vans. Had no problems and a great view of Mt Shasta. Quiet and close to town

Solid spot to overnight. A few other vans when I was there. Bathrooms and closest port-a-potty were locked but another one on the far 3rd base side of main baseball diamond was open.

Still a good spot for a night or 4. See pic of sign stating 96 hour limit. There were about 5 other rigs spending the night here. Bathrooms, trash cans, 2 hose bibs. All good except: at midnight a couple cars rolled in blaring music. Thankfully it didn’t last long. Also, the sprinklers go on at about 1am and can loudly spray your rig if you’re parked next the grass (ask me how I know!).

No snow but okay to park! Gravel parking lot with baseball field next door, stayed Feb 2022
