Central Arcata | Wild Camping

Stayed here for a night, came in around 9, left around 9 the next morning. Some car traffic and garbage truck early Thursday mornings but still a quiet stay. I’m in a 20’ turquoise skoolie so stealth mode is tough but this worked great.

stayed here for a few days. we didn't get any notice from the police, but we did move our campervan to check out surf and hikes during the day.

there looked to be a few permanent residents in the area, but everyone was friendly and chill.

close to bars, restaurants, and a fantastic food co-op.

Parked in a Class C and high top Savana, walked to shops and cafes. Came back to police cards on the windows. " Please move every 72 hours if staying here"
Called him and, quoting, "not a problem in that area but move every 72 hours and respect the neighborhood".

We only passed through but others may want this info.

Honestly I like parking here, it’s good walking distance pretty much anywhere into town. But the homes there do have dogs so if you have an aversion to hearing dogs bark.. very. Consistently.. consider that haha.

Stayed here and on a few of the neighboring streets in my stealth truck camper during my stay in Arcata. Felt safe the whole time and was never bothered.

Seems like a quiet spot on a small street in downtown. Near co-op. 3 bars Verizon. Parked in front of an industrial type business. Houses across the street

Safe overnight spot to stealth park near Arcata plaza and bike path to marsh. Alongside an AmeriGas business and some homes but no signage about parking rules. Saw a few other RVs along 7th St as well. Quiet and centrally located.
