Latest Check-Ins

Even though it’s not far from the highway or road, it felt very remote. No issues getting there with 2WD promaster and was the only one there for the night.

Nice flat spot! Great place to stop for the night on a road trip. GPS is accurate, turn off is small but is pretty close to where google maps says the destination is

Big rig friendly: 3 (of 5); Some tight corners, deep sand could be an issue in places…if you have 2 wheel drive (stay on designated roads); need to be good with a trailer.
Noise: 4 (of 5); pretty quiet, did hear trains periodically and trucks in the early morning. Slept with windows open, so not bad!
Cell reception: 5
View / aesthetics: 5 Stark desert with mountains in distance, pretty sunset, a little trash (signs of people attempting to live there…a long time ago)

Average rating: 4.25.

Great flat place to sleep for the night. There’s on. Room for maybe one big rig or a few cars. I spent the night in my SUV alone with no issues. There’s no tree coverage, so prepare to be blasted by the sun first thing in the morning!

Good stop to get a good night sleep before continuing on your trip. Area is about 2mi off the highway, so there is plenty of space for your pets to roam around (unsure about potential wildlife around, so we kept an eye on our two labs). This spot does tend to get windy, but depending on your set up it’s not bad at all. Across the highway someone was burning something so the smell was awful, as we were downwind for a certain period of time from the burn pile. Overall great spot for a rest stop. View of the stars at night are pretty perfect as well.

Edit: The turn off is narrow, so keep your eyes peeled as you approach. The GPS pin is pretty accurate, but if you’re going fast you will miss it.

Wow. Yes it’s the middle of nowhere. And kinda awesome. Unfortunately my little dog is having trouble with the intense winds. Do try it when it’s not so windy. It feels desolate and quiet and damn I wish I could stay for the stars. 😥. Next time
