Beautiful spot right with little stream and right before the NP. This is a nice flat spot, with a little stream (100% clear and cold) running next to it. The park rangers said we can camp here for free instead off the camps inside the park. (Not allowed to camp inside park anymore).
Not sure about pets. Along the road it says no pets, but it is public land outside the park, so don't see why not…
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
Be aware: the grass has been removed for construction purposes. The surface is now muddy. You can still camp here, but it’s less idyllic than before.
Report Check-InNice grass spot, easy access and spacious. Some cows and horses visit us, on the morning we had the chance to see some foxes too.
Report Check-InTotally merits its reputation, great spot indeed.
As a comment on the original report: camping inside the park is prohibited, bug if you just park somewhere, nobody will disturb you. Also, you can drive through the park to Los Barros. The park ends there and there are a few spots.
Anyway, camping with a tent will be next to impossible near the lake, because of thd very strong wind.
Fantastic place to stay, in a 2wd. The ground was quite boggy in some spots so be aware of the ground before driving on it. We stayed for 2 nights first night we were alone and was very quite. We filled our water bottles from the stream (filtered first). 2nd night was joined by 2 tents. Very quite night again. Wonderful views.
Report Check-InGreat place to wild camp next to the stream! We were the only ones there, except soms people coming by to refresh in the stream and a group of cows who joined us in the evening and morning :) it gets quiet cold at night because it’s all open there, but the view on the mountains and volcano is so beautiful!
Report Check-InNice place next to a clear water creek just before the entrance of the National Park
