This is a hidden jewel in Central Louisiana... Beautiful pristine lake with abundant fishing... No Motors Allowed... There is nice clean restrooms but no shower... Cell service is adequate & they do have a convenience store nearby with ice & gas as well as some groceries..
overall awesome place...

Beautiful National Forest campground. Sites on the Lake. Views of the Lake at other sites. Easy to find. All roads paved. Restrooms open. Water pumps at sites. Very peaceful and quiet in December. Loved it here!!!

This is a really nice place. Beautiful lake, big campsites. Choice of lakeside or quiet woods. $5 with a pass. Decent Verizon reception. Hiking trails. Wish I had a kayak.

We loved our lakeside site for 2 days. Weather was perfect and only a couple other campers. Flush Toilets fairly clean & water available. Lots of firewood, unfortunately a fire ban at moment. A couple of good hiking trails nearby. Signs to beware of gators! Didn't see any, but quite a few turtles. Very quiet & serene.

Perfect place.. beautiful…no insects.. on a lake .. for 10$..just fantastic .. we are only three campers out of 16 sites. I could stay here for days. Definitely recommend 💕

As described, just wanted to share that the toilets are not open and the camp host didn't indicate when they would be fixed (the day use area has a toilet, it's a bit of a walk depending on your site), if this is required I would call ahead before deciding on this location. I and self contained so I really enjoyed a peaceful day / night in the forest. There were only a few spots open when I arrived around 1pm on Saturday. I would recommend this spot and for $10 a night 👍🏻

Wonderful quiet campground. We were the only one here!

15 spots to choose from with 6 being by the water! No motor boats are allowed in the river so it is super quiet. They have a toilet and non portable water.

Beautiful NFS campground, $10/night drop box, camp host on-site. We were able to find a spot for our 26' skoolie no problem. Clean sites, quiet at night. Right on the lake. I wish we could stay longer.

We rolled into this site at sun down not expecting much but immediately felt safe, happy, and relaxed. The campsites on the water are super nice and space out. we had one with wooden steps down to a landing with a picnic table. We really loved this site and would visit again if ever passing through Alexandria again.

established campground with water only. this is the only primitive campground out of the 8 with water. decent sites, some on the water.
