Description

If you’re looking for a spot close to Red Rocks Canyon to go climbing…this is it. It’s just up the road from the main entrance. There’s a LOT of climbers here, so you’ll be in good company.

It’s right after the suburbs on the left if you’re coming from 215ish direction.

Warning: This is a hard little swath of gravel with big stones. Drive slow and you’ll be fine. I don’t have 4wd, but I made it because I drove very slow to a spot on the end.

This place gets FULL very quickly as the sun goes down.

Verizon signal 3bars ish. Speed is 7 to 9mb down/.8 to 1 mb up. If you want better speeds go down the road to the Home Depot Parking lot. 4 bars, 140mb down/26 to 30 up.

You are right next to a road, so you will hear road noise. But other than that, not bad, not stellar, but not bad. Which is to say you’re going to hear ppl going by at night.

OFFICIALLY CLOSED!! People were getting away with it. But now there are signs everywhere saying no parking at all.

Report Check-In

spent the night here on a monday in my 22ft motorhome. there were quite a few cars but the noise was overall pretty quiet, except for cars passing on the road right in front. full bars LTE to work remotely. this is the best option for sunrise access to red rocks

Report Check-In

Parking: Pulled up around 11:30pm, and space was available. ~20 other vehicles around.

Noise: Being it’s off the highway, it’s noisy. Around 1am, the cars passing by were infrequent enough to fall asleep.

Internet: AT&T - Full 5 bars (5G+) 285 down / 25 up

Report Check-In

A lot of people, but quiet despite being so close to the highway.

Report Check-In

stayed two nights, great climbing crowd and exactly as described. nothing fancy but a place to sleep.
second morning a cop came around and took photos and told told us that they have been getting too many complain from the people across the road about this spot.. so there's gonna be a lot more police presence in the future and that it's only parking allowed 10pm-5am... he was super nice about it and didn't hand out any fines to the 15+ campers here.. but he said that they will be looking to shut this place down... sucks cus this is the best spot so close to red rocks 😩 anyway. just be aware that you might receive a knock after 10pm going forward...

Report Check-In

Great rock climbing crowd. Of course there are no showers, but the nearby BLM campground doesn't have them either.

Report Check-In

Lots of other vans. Not quiet. Good T-mobil signal. 2wd ok.

Report Check-In

Stayed here 4 times. By 8pm, you’ll be in good company surrounded by 10-20+ other rigs. It’s not a relaxing or quiet camp spot, but it’s convenient and safe. Full Verizon coverage.

Report Check-In

Great spot. Stayed here for 2 nights while we visited Vegas. Nice because you’re right out of the city but still like a mile from grocery, coffee, gas, etc. In the Summerlin suburbs. Very nice clean suburbs. The gravel is very….gravelly lol so you have to go very slow with you don’t have 4wd. We did it in our Prius with no issues.

Report Check-In

Lots of space and a ton of vans parked overnight. Starts getting full around 5pm. Super rocky and some highway noise but good for a night. Great cell service. A few assholes driving by at night like to honk to disturb the peace so white noise or earplugs help.

Report Check-In

as described. fills up early. a little noisy with road noise and vans coming/going. but otherwise quiet. there's a hiking trail here that goes a ways along a ridge with really pretty views.

Report Check-In

Large gravel lot close to Red Rock and Summerlin. Off main road so there is noise but good spot for a night. Signal is good with T-mobile.

Report Check-In

Actually shocked this spot hasn't been shut down yet. Please play nice so we can keep it! Happy trails :)

Report Check-In

Please be respectful and do our best together to not have this spot get shut down. Please refrain from surface shitting at this location and actually any location. There are lots of toilets down the road (Starbucks, Costco etc.) #againstsurfaceshitters
I don’t mean to be a negative Nancy but this is a great spot for climbers to sleep and let’s work together to keep it from getting shut down. If it’s full please find another spot instead of overflowing onto the road.
Cheers

Report Check-In

Seems like a few people stay here but there’s an obvious sign that says no parking between 10p-2am

Report Check-In

Stayed here 11/26/21. We arrived in a camper van the downhill slope towards the end is pretty sketchy but is doable is driven slow. Like others have said, gets full quickly. Not a bad place being right out of Vegas. Went to planet fitness that morning a few miles east of here and saw 3 camper vans parked there. So if this place is full you could possibly check that out.

Report Check-In

It was crowded with overnight vehicle campers, but we were grateful to find this spot after being asked to leave a casino parking lot at 2 am.

Report Check-In

level sites and true to what was originally said. it was full on a Saturday by 6pm!
