Description

Beautiful Park in the heart of the Sierra Madre Occidental, just an hour and forty-five minutes from the Ocean Pacific (Mazatlan) and an hour and fifteen minutes from the city of Durango, with 4 parking spots for RVs, areas for camping, cabins for rent, excellent restaurant that opens Saturday and Sunday, trails for hiking and mountain biking, rock climbing, vía ferrata, zip line, birdwatching and canyoning.
Most activities you can do on your own or there is a guide service. The guides and personnel that work there are very friendly and always willing to help!
The entrance it’s on the highway 40D (23.7205414 - 105.5057796), km 114 and the few meters of dirt road are in excellent condition! Recommended!

Beautiful place to stay and enjoy nature. We camped with our big rig in a nice spot close to the lake (dry camping), but it’s possible to get good water. Very well organized park!
220pesos per person, but negotiable, maybe.
We did some hikes by ourselves with the kids and one climbing tour with very friendly staff. It was amazing! They have like a small playground for the kids to have fun, with a zipline, swings and slackline.
Cool temperature even in summer. Great to scape from the hot coast! Totally recommended!

Update: 100p per night for the dog. Be aware that there is a little puppy on site who has the bad habit of stealing shoes if left unattended…The staff was super helpful, helping us look for them in the dark and the next morning!

We had a hard time to find this place but it was worth it!
Google map directed us to La Adjuntas where the highway 40D crosses with highway 40. Not totally wrong since there is a narrow dirt road on the left end side with a sign to the Parque, but it is a 2km on a very bad rocky road. Took us 30 minutes to reach the reception. There is another much easier and shorter entrance way from the 40D located at (23.7205414, -105.5057796). You can pull off the hwy just before (west of) the overpass and turn sharp right (south), then it’s only about 100 m before you see the Parque.
Now 220 pesos per person, they didn’t ask anything for the dog (but we also didn’t mention it at the check-in…)

I wasn't able to find this place.

This place totally surprised us. It’s an absolutely gorgeous park with well maintained trails, adventure tourism activities and beautiful, quiet camping. The customer service was top notch, the bathrooms were spotless, and the showers perfectly hot. Such a great place to spend the night after arriving in Mazatlán on the ferry. There are two large dry camping areas for vehicle camping that the guides can direct you to or a few tent camping spots near the main reception and bathroom buildings. Everything is gated and felt extremely safe. It’s run by a very professional tourism group that is teaching the local ejido to manage it and will apparently turn it over to the ejido in the future. A real hidden gem with lots of land to explore. There is a misplaced purificada pin posted over this on iOverlander which we think has made it harder for people to find on here which is too bad cause it’s one of the best campsites we found in all of Mexico. We wish we’d stayed longer!

Great place to camp. I camped here for two nights mid week & I was the only one at the place. The facilities in the centeral area are some of the best I've seen. they also let me hook up to the 15amp power at one of the palapas. lots of great hiking trails and they have a lot of activities. Don't miss out on the Miradors on the south side of the park. they are amazing.

Campground with many other activities - walking trials, mtb, zip line, cabins, restaurant etc. also basic camping too. We camped in a spot that totally beautiful and away from the activities. The walking trails are stunning with beautiful rock formations. Hot showers included. Some telcel service. The restaurant was cheap enough. Cost 200peso per person per night. For 2 people not bad value if you are into walking. We stayed one night, hiked the first afternoon, then again in the morning. The downsize they want to charge the same fee per dog! Which I didn’t like, otherwise would have stayed a bit longer.
