Description

Free primitive camping at this National Forest area. Right on a lake with fishing. There are about six sites, no amenities really. Very quiet. When coming from the V road turn east when you see the sign - the road is dirt but in decent shape for any vehicle.

!--POSTING THIS AS A WARNING--!

At the time of writing this check in, Google maps does NOT RECOGNIZE the access road to the lake. It will lead you down a driveway with many loose, confrontational dogs which ends in a small turnaround in the forest. Before you plan on heading out here, be sure of where the access road to the actual campsite really is. If you use satellite view, you should be able to spot the campground next to the lake, and follow the dirt road back to where the access road *ACTUALLY* connects to the highway.

Don't be like me and end up confused and scared with poor cell service at the end of a country road surrounded by barking dogs that you really, really don't want to accidentally hit.

This is why we love iOverlander: finding sites like this. Beautiful small lake with free camping. We were here alone overnight. It does have a pit toilet now. 1bar Verizon, got 2 with cell booster. No reception with T-Mobile. Highly recommend, very quiet.
