Description

A decent-sized parking lot off the dirt road. it has a small slope, but you can find a level spot. enough space for big rigs. no facilities. good Verizon and T mobile signal. 5G AT&T signal as well. It's quiet and colder here than down in the city.

Nice to have a free place to stay along the Front Range that is easy to access in the winter. Stayed over Christmas and had a lot of day traffic with hikers/bikers and even a few parachuters (is that the right word??) but not much noise or traffic at night. Great trail system for getting some exercise. Just a few miles into town for gas/food/whatever. As always, please, please, please pick up after yourself. Go the extra mile and pick up after others and we can have nice things like this lot to stay in.

Stayed here over Thanksgiving as my rig developed mechanical issues and didn't want to risk Mt. Herman road. Lots of traffic during the day, but fairly quiet at night. Not many level spots, but good enough for a night or two of rest.

Report Check-In

its quiet and plenty of parking. it is colder here than in the city. its my first night here but its a huge rv parked and setup here as well.

Report Check-In

Very quiet with only a handful of cars on a Sunday night. Beautiful area. Nice trail to walk the dogs right across from parking lot.

Great overnight parking! We stayed here overnight and stayed during the day to hike. We saw multiple other campervans and vehicles that stayed overnight as well. There is a paved road most of the way to the trailhead, but it becomes a dirt road once you get closer. There are a bunch of big divots in the dirt road at first, but it levels out after a bit. There are two parking lots with the first one being bigger and the second one smaller. There is a sign that says there is a 14 day camping limit. There are no facilities or trash cans out there. Overall, great place to park and beautiful views.

Nice spot to park and camp for the night. Roads coming in were a little rough. Lots of other campers here but we were still able to find a spot.

Report Check-In

great place for the night surrounded by mountains. felt very safe in the area and had good service. had some hikers and bikers come and go and saw a sign that said free camping for up to 14 days

Report Check-In

Very crowded lot but worked for the night. Good Verizon service.

Report Check-In

no issues, plenty of people camping across the street in tents and in the parking lot several cars/bus/RV. noisy until later at night. 5g Verizon worked for me.

Report Check-In

8 or so vehicles. No road noise. Broad, open views. Gravel lot is only slightly slanted.

Report Check-In

nice sized parking lot - main one isn't maintained at all. we came night after 30 inches of snow and didn't attempt driving into that one. there's a smaller lot about 50 ft farther right that is easier to back in as it's used more and cleaner. decently busy, pet friendly.

Report Check-In

Good place to stay when you have to work and need a place close to town. I have full 5g bars. lots of big rigs camped here and it does get busy but it's quiet after the sun goes down which is great!

Report Check-In

sign says 14 day stay limit. very much looks like overnight parking is allowed. quite the slopped spot. not sure you find a level spot without blocking access.

Report Check-In

Nice, quiet spot away from any highway or city noise. Good cell reception and room for dogs to run around. It DOES look like people stay here for a while, but I don’t know why FERN felt the need to call them homeless like it’s a bad thing. Where do you think this whole van life thing started? Get over yourself and be a bit more respectful as they were also respectful of the space.

Report Check-In

Stayed here for the night, quiet place, a few other cars parked here but think they look like homeless in cars.
