Santa Margarita park River Road Trailhead. $3 fee. Very flat and big. Note that approaching from the West it’s a very tight turn of nearly 180 degrees to get in. Best approached from the East.
Large flat area with toilet but no water. Very peaceful. We stayed last night and plan to do so again tonight.
No call service on T-mobile.

Flat, relatively level parking at the trailhead. I parked near the horse camping area and paid the $3 day use fee. They mention camping fees and site reservations for camping on the trail, but I just slept in the truck in the parking lot and it’s a little unclear how that works. A few cars drove by - no one bothered me. Sunrise over the hill was gorgeous.
