There are many campsites available on NWR land south of the lake on AL Hwy 40. Unfortunately many have a lot of trash and unkempt fire pits. There is also a lot of road noise, but that quiets down after dark.
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
Camper along lake. Lots of garbage, which is sad, because otherwise it would be pretty.
Road is right there so road noise is there, but it's free parking.
plenty of spots down the long road, it's TVA public land you are allowed to camp here, close to walmart and the chevron has a water spigot we took hot showers and had a blast,beautiful view of water.
we had a truck and a cargo trailer 7 x 15 ft.
