Nice free place to stay, even with a tent. Amazing view. WiFi, clean toilets. Recommended.
Report Check-InNice place in Jan 2023. Cold though, we’re getting lightly snowing upon. Trucks passing but they aren’t too noisy.
Report Check-InGreat spot after border crossing from Bolivia. Wifi is free, just keep on refreshing every 30 minutes.
The view is great we can’t wait until sunrise.
I agree with the last comment, the view is amazing here! We didn't regret not stopping at the Estancia before. We saw no warden, maybe it's the end of the season, but the toilets were open and we could fill our water. A lot of tables with parasols, good for just a break too. There's a small trail down the lake, very nice view and so many birds and flamingos, viscachas and alpacas too! We got an amazing sunset. Some trucks driving by until late.
Report Check-InStayed here two nights. First night , i pitch tent inside wood shelter to avoid winds, but parked my motorbike at provided tables (with roof), to avoid to be seen clearly from the road. Second night, conaf staff offered me slept inside the building in front of fireplace. It was really warm inside the building after having colds night a night before inside the tent. Have wifi if the staff is there. Clean toilet that open 24hrs, and portable water too. View for me is the best from here compared to the nearest Estacion (another spot inside iOverlander). The trailer to/from Bolivia passed by, if you need a quiet place, this place or any places on this ruta not for you. I don’t know what time the trailers stop passing by, because i can sleep very well even with noise😂.
Report Check-InGreat stop. Level place, clean bathroom, great view. Wet met the friendly staff on the morning and allow us to refill our tank of water. Good spot to spend the night before or after the border crossing.
Report Check-InParking lot with picknick area right next to the street with CONAF station. Nice staff allowed us to camp for free on the fine but hard gravel ground. Only little traffic at night. No kiosk open when
when we were there, but toilets available.
Fantastic view for sunset and sunrise but beware temperatures at night: far below 0 with ice on the car and tent. We moved to the car during the night.
Really nice free spot! Has parking spaces with picnic tables and some shade. Bathrooms were clean, running water, no tp, no shower. Nice view of lake and volcanoes! Right near highway, so might be noisier for tent campers. No one there when we arrived, so we just parked, next morning park rangers registered us. Cold at night! Also no WiFi. Good for big rigs, and tent friendly.
Report Check-Inno more Wi-Fi. Jorge, the caretaker told me it's cut off.
after some convincing, we could charge some batteries.
He also told the water is good, we drank it with no problem.
Due to the roadworks, it's a dusty place when the trucks pass. overall basic place next to big road.
some decent wind shelter for pitching tents.
great view!
Surprisingly wifi is pretty fast!!! Viva chile!! But the toilet doesn't have water to wash your hand. it's nice to have picnics table but very windy... the road to office(if you come from colchane)is under construction now, took long time to reach.
Report Check-Inno one when we were here. no kiosko, no Wi-Fi
great view on the panaricota volcano
6.8mb/s internet here! Surreal location to find such a thing. That is crazy fast!
