Park rangers shower up, told me to leave. Apparently someone was there with a stolen car. Not a great spot. Go to Orick, they sent me there. Huge dirt pull off on the south side of town. You'll see semi trucks at night. But the better spot was the parking lot for the redwood park horse trail, behind the school. Rodeo ground nearby is supposed to allow camping for $5 with coin showers available but they seem to be erratically picky as to whether you can stay if you don't have horses. Hosts are nice but they don't handle money so the organizer woman who does, has no social skills.

Report Check-In

Decent enough spot, but the police showed up at 9pm and told us we couldn't stay, pointed us towards the rest area 5 miles south

Report Check-In

Stayed a night here, we were alone but felt safe enough. It was a rainy day so the trail down to the beach was extra muddy and we didn't venture down.

Report Check-In

Easy spot parallel to the highway. Quiet, except for occasional road noise. A lot of trash! You can see the ocean a little bit through the trees. There are two spots that are not easily visible from the highway, but larger vehicles might not be able to access. There are a few spots visible to the highway as well.

T-Mobile - no service

Report Check-In

Nice quiet spot, no issues. It’s near a gorgeous trail down to the water.

Report Check-In

Looks like a frontage road on the side of the highway, take it all the way to the back and you’ll find a spot tucked away behind a big rock and some bushes. There is also a spot just before it, that is ever so slightly exposed to the highway views. Stayed one night, was quiet even despite being next to the highway.

Report Check-In

Pretty nice spot, especially the further down the dead end road you go. May be challenging for taller vehicles. Lots of surf sound and the occasional vehicle on 101. Lots of trash too. Leave it better than you found it. Good for one night. Trail takes you down to the lagoon

Report Check-In

So we were able to make it down to the end where there is a canopy of trees and what others say is a trail down to the river but when we got there we saw an obscene amount of trash/bottles/excrement so we turned around and went to the nearest rest area south (it’s actually pretty nice). Anyway we got some weird vibes here and like to linger outside of the van but wouldn’t feel comfortable doing so here.
There were a few gnarly potholes on the way in, and a narrow area…

Report Check-In

A small road just off the main Highway that has a few pullout spots to park in, spots further down the road are quieter but may be difficult for any high roof vans. The road is very dirty, with lots of trash and a few areas with poo, so be careful where you tread. There is a small path down to the beach at the end of the road, which was very quiet, but the walk down was like going through the rainforest.

This place is in wrong location - it is located at 41.20634, -124.11040

Report Check-In

this was actually a decent little place. There was at least two spots at the top of the hill there might have been more further on but we didn't venture. But it's far enough off 101 that the noise was lower and honestly quieted down pretty much for the night. But we felt very safe and it was a great place. There was a nice view that you could see through the trees but of course the trees mostly obscured it.

Report Check-In

Nice spot for a night. Had 3 bars Verizon. Fairly secluded once you get into the trees. No problems at all, one other car down the road a bit.

Report Check-In

Stayed one night here. a few other cars there. gps on this is not exact. coming from north, it's a bit past the coordinates but there is atleast a sign for the turn in.

trail is overgrown and looks a bit sketchy. noisy because it's right by the road but very sparse at night, I just wore ear plugs anyway. pretty private otherwise probably only good for one ish night

Report Check-In

As one of the precedent comments says , the spot is a bit after the gps point.
Nobody was here, but we didn’t have any problems. It’s right next to the road so you can ear it but still good for one night.

Report Check-In

Nice and secluded though close to the Highway. There is one spot even further in and I think a small way to the ocean but I didn't go down all the way.
Lots of trash, please leave better than you found it!

Report Check-In

I followed directions from the check ins since the google maps takes you down a private property road. So I turned around went south, took a right down a dead end road. There were several signs saying no rv’s past this point unless you have a permit turn around. Now I need to hurry and find a last minute spot. Eek!

Report Check-In

A paved, relatively flat road running parallel to HWY 101. The spot furthest toward the end is relatively buffered by trees, reducing the road noise, which dies down quite a bit after dark. Felt very safe and private for one night. 3bars VZN LTE.

Report Check-In

Side road on the 101, parallel to it, on asphalt, room for about 3 vehicules. Very good for one night!

Report Check-In

If you’re northbound on 101, the left turn is certainly before the google map pin.
Southbound, right turn is after the pin.
2 bars Verizon LTE.

Report Check-In

Good for one night. Joined by one other van. No tmobile. pretty good att

Report Check-In

not super appealing at first sight, as it's just off the highway, but we had a great night!
you can actually see and hear the ocean from the spot. we got the spot closed to the beginning of the trail so we were pretty tucked in and not visible from the highway. another car pulled out later on and got the spot closer to the highway. both very decent spot to rest and spend the night

Report Check-In

Excellent spot for a night. It's a road that goes parallel to 101. It didn't show up in any of my GPS apps. As you go south on 101 and you "pass" the point, slow down and you'll see a dead end road branching to the right.

Report Check-In

We couldn't camp in the campground where we were expecting to stay so we looked for another site in the area. Spent one night here in our B-van. It was just as described. There was one car parked there, but we never saw an indication that anyone was in it. The site was reasonably level and the road noise died out pretty well at night.

Report Check-In

This small spot is hidden from the road, leads to a trail / hike to beach. No amenities, road noise is present. Good for one night
