Something not right?

Description

Beautiful overlook of Mt Reiner. Site is slightly off to the right of the Forest service gravel road. You’ll make a slight right onto another gravel road where there are “no shooting” signs. There are 2 established fire rings and big logs to sit on around them. No bathrooms or water. This is dispersed camping. Leave No Trace! I stayed here in a older conversion van and had no trouble with clearance (11ft tall and 19ft long). Any longer and turning around is going to be real tough. Only bad part of the road was the first 4 feet off of the paved road but 2WD should be fine. Apparently there are more sites down the road but I did not check them out. 2 bars with Verizon.

My favorite dispersed camping site I’ve been to so far! We absolutely LOVED this spot. Easy to get to, it’s one of the first spots on this road. The Apple Maps thought it was further up the road than it was, just follow the directions that others have posted and it’s not hard to find. I feel lucky that it was still free on a Friday afternoon in the summer as I imagine it gets taken quick.

It’s like its own little secluded valley with a stunning view of the mountain. It’s large, flat, and has a pit and you could run around the valley slightly below it as well. This would be a great spot for slightly larger groups as I’m sure you could squeeze in 3-4 cars in the “driveway” and tent camp in the middle.

I had weak but usable service with AT&T, but others with T-mobile had none.

I’m so happy we got this spot for a night, I could’ve stayed for more. If you can get it, grab it! Otherwise there are plenty more spots further up the road.

Fantastic view of Mount Rainier! Wasn’t hard to find a level spot. Decent cell reception on Verizon.

Report Check-In

It was cloudy for most of when I was there but when there were breaks in the clouds the view was pretty beautiful, and when it was rainy it had a nice cozy atmosphere even though it’s a big area. Some people drove by but no one stopped ever.

Great spot with an amazing view. Very popular spot as I was visited by couple campers just taking pictures.

Perfect quiet spot. There was a VERY sus child’s bike left behind which left me concerned I was going to be haunted 😂 but had a non-paranormal night and woke up to a perfect view of Mount Rainier.

2 bars of LTE on Visible/Verizon
No/very spotty service on T-Mobile

Easy road, nice place and enough place for 2 or more. Beautiful views

This spot is one of my absolute favorites. Mountains surround you and a great view of Mount Rainier. Spot could fit at least two rigs, but we were there for 4 nights and no one else showed up. Great Verizon reception too! Road up to this spot is easily doable with 2WD, but past this spot I wouldn't recommend especially if it's raining.
