Something not right?

Description

A large gravel area between 101 and the Columbia River. Large enough for any trailer. A few vans, cars here now spending the night. Noise from road might be an issue. Right on water with break rocks for edge. Full LTE service with Verizon, T-mobile, ATT, and gFi. No services. I'd say this place is not kid or pet friendly because of road. FAST moving cars/trucks 24/7! It does slow down a tad after midnight, but it’s still LOUD! Also watch for sketchy hitchhikers!

Latest Check-Ins

Works for an overnight. Stayed on a Saturday night and we were the only ones through the night. Saw some otters in the morning!
Usually I sort of scoff at reviews that talk about road noise when you’re right by a road because duh there’s going to be noise, but this definitely was louder than usual. And we had one that of those honks other reviews mentioned. But really no one bothered us so it works.

Just had to laugh at the folks running generators and complaining about road noise. As a car camper, I find it obnoxious when RV run generators nearby/at rest stops. Climate change people- dump the noise and air polluting fossil fuel generators and go solar. Other people exist.

We’ve driven from TX, thru NM, UT, WY, MT, ID, and will be rounding the trip down the W coast, back to Dallas & have stayed at several pull offs and even though this is one of the nicer, leveled, wider ones we’ve stayed at, this is also the most UNSAFE one! Not only are soooo many cars flying by at high speeds, several honking & going over the vibrating speed lumps, making the most loud & annoying sound all hours, but a guy scared the sh*t out of us at midnight! Knocked LOUD on our trailer door- hubs opened it, thinking it was a cop. Nope. A sketchy, shady dude on a bicycle asking if we’ll be heading over the bridge soon & if he could hitch a ride w us!! He clearly saw we were hatching down for the night- generator on, jacks down. Like WTF?! Thankfully we are carrying, just in case. At least made us feel a little bit safer. Our rear trailer lights quit working overnight, so now we have to find a mechanic before we go much further. Sucks. We also saw something weird going on out in the bay- a coast guard helicopter was flying over a boat for over an hour, as the boat kept turning around. Not sure what was going on there, but gave us something to look at! See pic.

gravel pull out on side of the road. traffic noise died down overnight but picked up again early. a good place for a quick overnight but I wouldn't hang out here

Report Check-In

I’ve stayed at this spot for one night several times whenever I pass through. It used to be a decent pull off. Yes the locals really do honk at all the vans/rvs/campers and I don’t know why. But I’ve started noticing that this place is going downhill fast. So much garbage everywhere now, and my friend even found human sh*t on the ground not even hidden. Like seriously, someone just popped a squat here and went. Who does that? Leave no trace, people!

I suppose the view is pretty.

good Verizon and starlink. probably one of the noisier roadside stays I have been to out of a hundred-ish. they really like to honk at campers up here 😂. still good for a quick night. watch out for the big potholes pulling in

Great gravel pull off by the road. Can definitely fit multiple vehicles. Even though it's right next to the road the lights and sounds weren't too bad. Right by the water with beautiful views.

Not a great place to sleep to be honest. So much traffic. The pics make it look bigger than it is. Better places to sleep in ilwaco & Long Beach & Naselle!!!

One other camper here, great view over the water and traffic getting lighter as the evening goes on.

this is a second time staying here. 1st time we were socket in fog and cold, this time we had amazing views day & night!!! then an incredible seabird & seal 🦭 fish hunt witnessed last night with the incoming tide. traffic will be loud at times. that's plenty of garbage already in this spot, cigarettes, poop tules, and lose bits. we picked up around or parking spot, even a 💉 all we can do is try to keep these spots available...

Back again. Nice stop to cook dinner and spend the night.

Report Check-In

We stayed one night - pulled in around 8:30. It’s right off the road but good view. Traffic picked up around 5am so got loud. We also filled up a trash bag of trash. Leave it better than you found it.

Report Check-In

Large pullout on road 101. Slept here for 2 nights. There’s about 5-8 other cars/campervans staying.

Can be noisy because it’s right next to the road.
