Yes, a wonderful place. Warm water in the river and really fun to walk the canyon and explore. Dog friendly. All free, a rare treat in Chile. All alone overnight and random visitors through the day. Sunday was busiest, but still not too busy. The attack llama is still around, but the people running the store do their best to keep it away from the parking area. The weather is about perfect here too. Spent 3 nights, would come back again. Don't miss this special place in the desert. Suitable for any size rig.

perfect place to stay a few days very quiet and safe by night
river with warm water
clean toilets (500 pesos)
water (1000 pesos for half liter just in case )
we stayed 3 nights
some tourists during the day but very peaceful and perfect sunset with the cactus

Report Check-In

We didn‘t stay the night, but the whole afternoon.
Windy, with nice view on the canyon.
Be careful, no joke: there was a beyond aggressive Lama who attacked us because of food and partly out of personal fun. It also jumps against people and doesn‘t let go

Beautiful and free canyon to hike. Nice big cactus. You can also sleep on the parking for free. There is a little kiosk where you can buy some drinks and snacks. There is also a trash bin !
No phone signal

We stayed here for two nights and felt safe and it was a nice area. Like everywhere around San Pedro, Tours are still there in the evening and already start coming in the morning but there is enough space.

Very nice to sleep in here with our van, the hiking through the canyon is amazing. Also, the lady at the cafeteria lets you use the wifi when you buy something.

Amongst our favorite wild camping spots in Chile! Water nearby, clean, flat and beautiful nature. Perfect for an early start to Tatio. We loved it here!

really nice place to sleep, the sunset is amazing on those big cactus. didnt hear any traffic in the morning

Report Check-In

This place is really easy to reach. Very beautiful nature and water there. Perfect for washing you and your cloth.

Report Check-In

Easy access from the south end of the long water crossing. Sandy, but no problem for even 2wd. The river in the canyon, the grasses and the Cardon cactuses are beautiful. Take a hike about 400m down river to a series of cascades and a swimming hole. Lots of locals on Sunday afternoon, but quiet otherwise.

Great place indeed.
BUT if you are planing to go to the Geyser for the sunrise, just make sure you have a good look at the trail on day light: we had no trouble at all getting in at day light but took a wrong trail out at dark and got half stock in sand; even after we deflated our tyres and got out of the sand, we are not sure we took the right trail or if we took a “shortcut”, it looked way more sandy and with small plants that we realized at daylight!

A big flat sandy area just before the river/canyon. Suitable for any type of vehicle or bicycle. You can take any of the 3 ramps from the main road leading down into the valley. A good starting point if you want to head up to the geysers the next morning.

Not too cold at night, some wind and no shade. Far away enough from the road, but we had two tour buses stop while we were there. One just for a quick break, the other stayed the whole evening and seemed to be a stargazing with drinks/snacks experience. They didn't bother us though and kept surprisingly quiet.

Nice place. We had a quiet and peaceful night. Bring firewood for a camp fire.

Report Check-In

Great place to camp near the river. We chose to camp next to the hill for wind cover. Turn left from San Pedro onto the dirt road and follow it to the end.

Nice place. Beautiful sunset and sunrise ! Access not so easy but we did it with our motorhome ! It's really dry but don't go if it's raining !

Report Check-In

Could not find this place, but pulled up somewhere around here on a flat space on the side of the road. It's directly on the right after crossing the small stream. Good place to spend the night on the way to El Tatio, because of the altitude.
