Great area. Generally I don’t like staying and paying, but for $5, great deal. Area has many sites available. Two entries to the area. Best to go find a spot, claim it. Then you have to drive back to road entry and pay.
Second entry is further west of eastern entry, more sites with shade available if you turn west onto dirt road just after entering west entrance. It Looks like maintenance road, but takes you to other sites.
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
Cute little campsite. Very few spots, but only one other camper was there. Smells like cow poop, but otherwise a fine spot for a quick stop.
Report Check-InNice quiet open campsites, on a grassy meadow between the local road and the trees along the river. Not much traffic. We rolled in right at dusk on a Saturday night and there were a few spots open on the west loop. There were a few tents and pickups with folks fishing and camping over by the river. Perfect spot for an overnight in the van. Stars were terrific after dark, far enough away from 84 and town. Great deal for $15.
Report Check-InPretty nice place on the river when it is quiet. Thursday night and we were the only people on this 5-site Cedar Loop. We stopped at quite a few spots that were trashed or had palettes/garbage strewn about and clean metal garbage cans are provided. Use them!!! Bathrooms are really clean. Rules say sites cannot be unoccupied for 24 hours but it looks like there are many vacant trailers that have been here for weeks. Local, loud partying from the boat-ramp could be heard throughout the night.
Report Check-InWe got here early afternoon and snagged one of the last spots available. We stayed at site #8 which is mostly great because it's right on the water, it's not listed on the map, it's down a side road, it's the only site that is not anywhere near other campsites and it's very small so no RVs can't fit in there. We barely fit our 170 sprinter! It's also about a 2-3 min walk to the bathrooms. Fire ring but no picnic table at this site.
Downsides are there are a lot of people using the boat ramp to fish or launch boats so if you want total privacy or peace and quiet it's not for you. We also had several people drive down the road we were camped on only to find it deadends, so some annoying traffic. Also lots of shooting going on.
This is a beautiful area and fun for fishing or hiking around, but I'm not sure it's worth the $15/night unless you are in a pinch.
I think you could probably boondock overnight in the boat ramp parking lot if you needed to.
