This is on a gravel road just inside Oregon State Forest land, just off Northfork Road. At a trail head. The sign indicates a limit of 14 days maximum stay, so I assume this means dispersed camping. There were a few pull outs up the road, but this one was the largest. Unfortunately lots of folks know about this area, so a few dozen cars coming up the road till 11pm or so. After that it was quiet. A fairly close to the Coast, quick park-n-sleep. Nothing special.
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
a ton of signs on the way up saying "no trespassing" and so on..., but when you reach the gravel turn-off, it isn't bad.
we went up and kept left at the 3-way fork and found some awesome spots that are clear away from other people and a beautiful view. definitely still some bones and carcasses on the way up, but we had no issues with animals. I'd keep an eye out though.
either way, great spot - no rednecks with guns in sight.
Decent location with many turnouts; didn't see much trash. Kept left at the forks and drove til I found a nice mountain top spot with a view. Fairly level ground, but definitely not perfect. No one else around that I saw/heard on a winter night. Several animal carcasses/skeletons on the side of the road on the drive in so I assumed active mountain lion(s) and I didn't let my dog off leash. Almost full bars (LTE) with Google Fi, but not until I neared the top. Found a tick crawling on my water jug that I had placed on the ground, even in Jan, so check yourself/pets/kids before you leave. Stayed one night then skedaddled on down the road.
Report Check-InFine place to stay a night. Only 1 car coming by the entire night. At&T service is pretty good and the mountain view is not too bad as well.
Report Check-InWould not recommend this spot!
Crazy redneck locals shooting guns and harassing anyone in a van. I was screamed at in the middle of the night to go home.
Tread carefully, especially with out of state plates.
Will probably pay for a campsite close by next time.
Again, WOULD NOT RECOMMEND!!!
steep rock hill that may require some ground clearance to get through. once reaching a split in the road we took the immediate left and found a really nice clearing with mountain view and fire pit. encountered few other campers but had no issues.
Report Check-InI entered this road and saw the 14 day max sign so I continued. Arrived at the trailhead on right & the sign said "no camping". I continued up the road for another half mile and took the right fork of a 3 way and came across a dirt rd on the right with rocks blocking the road. While relaxing, 4 rigs came by looking for this spot. They turned around apparently looking for other spots on this trail. I haven't confirmed any other camping spots but they must exist down the other roads at the fork.
3 bars with google-fi.
Okay place. Bit of an incline getting there. We didn't stay due to our van being tempermental and pretty heavy up the hill lol.
