Good overnight free camping spot with a cell signal, no toilets, about 40 min from I70, used by hunters in the fall. Quiet at night with just locals driving by the rest of the year. We would stay here again.
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
the ticks are no joke out here, otherwise a lovely quiet spot with lots of pullouts
Report Check-Inpretty nice wooded area that is free to camp. to address @christian's comment the signs are a little confusing they say the area is closed after 10pm, but the pamphlet adds "except for authorized camping, fishing, hunting" I stayed here in June and it was 10 degrees cooler than St Louis area. but yeah lots of bugs! no toilet, water or trash. several areas with gravel for big rigs to park and plenty of spots for tents and cars to park. I'd stay here again. the spot a little further down the road has better cell service AT&T.
Report Check-InRolled in at 11pm, rolled out at 9am. About 25mins away from I70. There’s DG between I70 & camp spot. Nice neighborhood. Several spots to pick from. Free camping! See pics
Report Check-InThere is a sign saying closed from 4pm-10am but i still stayed the night without issue. Maybe 5 cars passed from when I got there around 8pm until I left around 9pm. Very quite and very cozy in the morning. Just an empty gravel parking lot with trees all around.
There are two rather steep hills that my van struggled a little to climb. The two hills are paved unlike the rest of the gravel road
Report Check-InGood overnight spot with a cell signal. Quiet at night with just locals driving by. We would stay here again.
