Despite what it looks like at first glance, this lot and the surrounding forests are all private property. This is a rural community with many children and houses nearby. In the last few years the amount of use has increased exponentially. Despite there being a 24/7 available toilet in the park next store, people are actually defecating in the middle of hiking trails and leaving toilet paper... Right in the trail. Absolutely no respect for locals. This is not just one or 2 people. The toilet paper piles and human feces by the end of last summer was staggering.

Garbage is left here constantly, and members of the community are CONSTANTLY picking up after overnighters here. This is not a camp ground.

At the end of the day, this is private property and overnight camping will have to be enforced going forward. Pease, Please, Please tech your children leave no trace etiquette.

We stayed here the night and missed the first turn for Horne Lake road and had to turn back for it, once we found it we bunkered down and were pleasantly surprised at how quiet it actually ended up being. Some little traffic noise in the morning but just ourselves over night. Some cute trails near by that we ended up walking our dog on which is always a huge bonus. Would stay here again for sure. :) - PLEASE be respectful as you’re right across from where the kids will be getting on/off the bus for school!

Stayed here for one night. Quiet place. Watch for horse manure if you walk around 😃...

Big gravel lot. there were several other campers who came late in the evening but I think they were star gazers because most were gone during the night. Some street noise but not too bad. Fairly level lot. Hikes or mountain bike trails. Lots of litter though.

Nice quiet spot, the railway is decommissioned and the road is far enough and pretty quiet anyway.
There’s even a small pullout lane at the back of the gravel to be more isolated.
One of the very few boondocking spot on the south of the island
