Approximately 300 meters past Lynx Creek bridge going north right hand side of road, gravel road leading down to Peace river there is a wide flat gravel area. We parked 10 meter from Peace river, very quiet, can just hear hwy, deer tracks, two beavers, lots of birds, very nice.
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
Access In the middle of a construction site for Site C (BC Hydro dam). We did not try to drive down thinking they will either tell us to disappear or 7am the beeping construction noises will start. I don’t believe anything close to the river will exist once the flooding will start (don’t know that timeline). New spots will have to be found once the lake has been created.
Report Check-InThe Lynx Creek Project has taken over this site for temporary housing of the workers. They are building a dam (for hydro power), new bridges and elevated roads and it may take some more time. Once it's done, this place will be on the bottom of a new lake (as well as all other places between here and the dam near Charlie Lake / Fort St John). We spent the night elsewhere.
