Something not right?

Description

Picnic area with restrooms and access to short trails that lead to the shore and around the lagoon. Parking lot has no "no camping or overnight parking" signs. There's a spot or two on one side where you could fit a larger rig but mostly it's just normal-sized parking spaces where you could fit a truck or van. Little to no cell service. Short drive to Redwood National Park. Gas just a few miles down the road in Klamath.

Latest Check-Ins

Good spot. No signs. Quiet at night. Spent one night here with another overlander.

Report Check-In

Really nice location by a small lagoon. We were the only car parked here for the night, was very quiet. Clean restrooms that are open all night and level parking.

Report Check-In

Great lot by the 101 with water toilets and faucets. As other reviews have stated, the spots are not very big but our Ford E350 (~20 ft) fit in the spots fine. Nice hikes nearby, spotty 4G for T-Mobile, road noise died down during the night. Great place for a jumping off point to explore the redwoods the next day.

Report Check-In

Large tight lot, not suitable for larger rigs, but SUVs, cars and vans will fit fine. Restroom facilities and trash bins, hiking, picnic tables. A very scenic, nice place to daycamp or to spend one night. Park Rangers rolled through a couple of times while we were there. No issues. This is a busy parking lot during the day, lots of road noise. No "no overnight parking" signs in parking area, but camping is not allowed on trails or beach area. No Verizon or T-Mobile service.

Report Check-In

we did not camp here, but we walked over from the next overlook to use the bathroom, and there are no visible signs that say No Overnight Parking. like the last comment said, it’s just a sign next to the trailhead stating no camping on the trails. it’s a very nice, spacious parking lot with real toilets. i would say that you could probably car camp here and not have any issues!

Report Check-In

Great place for overnight. No 'No Overnight Parking' signs in lot or at full bathrooms. There is No Camping listed on the trailhead sign- along with No Dogs and No Bicycles. It feels obvious that the no camping is for on the trail, not the lot itself. We stayed overnight, no issues. In the early morning, a CHP vehicle pulled into the lot briefly but never approached us.

This place is permanently closed.

Report Check-In

It's clearly posted no camping allowed.

Report Check-In

Definitely no camping allowed. Sign posted right by the trailhead.

Report Check-In

Spent several nights here while exploring the area. Bathrooms, fun trail to the beach, easy access to Klamath and Crescent City. There were several other vans and campers each night.

Report Check-In

as described. restroom open 24 hours. there was 1 big trailer a few car campers, and 2-3 vans. nice little walk to a beach/islands overlook in the morning mist. one person honked once in the evening, that’s all. even found some verizon LTE out on the overlook, supported video call
