Something not right?

Description

Tons of spots right outside the (no-longer free) campground tagged right next to this spot. There are at least 15 spots if not more. Some are suitable for full size trailer, we just have a roof tent and stayed two nights in two different spots.

Lovely spots. Some with views. Others with trees and meadow. One entrance of the loop has way worse ruts than the other. I suggest walking it before you drive it.

Beautiful Meadow. Some Large and some small spots. We parked at the top of the hill in a 36ft with 2 trucks and a 16ft trailer. Spotty service on Verizon but some service. Close to Fairy Lake.

Really beautiful campsites with mountain views! I noticed about 7 spots but I think there’s probably a few more. The free spots are all directly across the gravel road from the paid campsite not further up (it’s a dead end with really bad ruts where you have to turn around and definitely not enough room to turn around a trailer or big rig, it was tight in my 22’ truck - would not recommend). This pin is actually in a good location where the spots are

There’s 3 dirt turn offs on the left of gravel road which all lead to spots and there’s one spot on the right side just past these (after this there’s nothing). I wouldn’t attempt if it’s been raining a lot or early spring after the snow melts. The paid campground would probably be fine where it’s gravel but all the free spots would be mud (maybe you can make it in a good 4x4 but you’ll probably leave the roads in an even more rutted mess than they already are). I’ve included some photos of the dirt road and some different spots

Update: it poured one day while i was here and we ended up staying an extra 2 days waiting for it to dry. In that time, I saw 2 trailers, a truck and an suv get stuck in the mud so definitely do not attempt if it’s muddy!

Nice site. We were In the last spot on the left. Early in the morning we woke up to a black bear trying to open the door to our van and looking in the window. We let the camp host know. He was super friendly and didn’t mind us dumping our cassette toilet in the pit toilets down in the pay area.

Wonderful campground!! Very accessible. Some dirt roads leading to a bunch of other free campsites nearby but those roads are in crazy rough shape so those are way harder to get to although they’re only 100-300 yards away. 2 bars of T-Mobile service. Sign posted says it will cost $10 per night starting in August. 2 pit toilets

Large meadow with wildflowers, pines, and a dirt road loop. Not much shade if any. More than a dozen well used spots, some with makeshift rock fire rings. (No fires allowed as of this writing.) Preferable to the developed campsites next door. Friendly camp host on dev side who came by and said hello.

Small to medium size rigs - “big” is probably not a good idea. I managed to fit my 30ft 5th wheel into one of the bigger spaces.

Lots of horseflies and bees. DEET seems to keep them at bay. Haven’t been bit yet.

Do note - black bears are in the area, they have been seen in camp at night. Maybe a grizzly too. Be cautious, don’t leave food out, don’t carry salmon treats in your pocket!
