iOverlander cannot verify if wild camping is permitted at this location. It is your responsibility to verify local laws or obtain consent before staying the night.
This is a decent spot that's partially hidden from view.
There is extreme road noise as well as noise from passing trains who blast their horns multiple times.
There is no indication of who this land belongs to but no signs forbidding parking camping etc. However I would not set up lawn chairs barbecue etc and just enjoy the spot overnight and possibly a lunch or something as it is not well camouflaged.
The site is suitable for pickups vans and conversion vans but there is no space to maneuver for class A or trailers.
I'd say there's space for about 2 to 3 people.
This should go without saying that fires would be a dead giveaway so please don't.
There also appears to be a boat launch.

we stayed one night at this location and it was completely fine we stayed on the far side of the dam when you're driving in because the close side was so close to the train tracks we wanted a little more quietness so when we pulled across the dam we were the only ones in there with our class C 31-ft motorhome and our Jeep no one bothered us no one else pulled in through the night and with ear plugs I'm being far enough away from the train tracks it was a very peaceful night.
we even looked around that area to see if there was any more trash we could pick up from other people and it was a surprisingly very clean spot already. Way to go campers!

Small gravel driveway to the dam. Further down there is no trespassing sign but before that there’s enough space for 3 cars to stay the night. Slept from 10:30pm-7am and no one came by . Train honked twice
Report Check-InNice place for a night or two like us
Train passing by during the night like many other spot along the highway 1
Was three last night and some other at the entrance. Will see tonight
What an awful place! Yes, the river is beautiful but it's all ruined by loud, huge trucks passing by every 20-30 seconds. You can't even hold a conversation here let alone hear yourself think. Yet another awful FC site near Banff. Banff is just a disaster zone for camping. Unless you book in a century in advance you're confined to gravel pit like overcrowded ghetto zones. I pity the poor Canadians who've travelled from out east to this shambolic mess. There's literally nothing within 50 miles of Banff in any direction. The local authorities should be ashamed of themselves.
Report Check-InNice spot, we stayed there 4 nights. At some point we were 5 van and it was ok.
there is a hiking trail
Good spot for the night. I set up my tent but there was also a van there. Lights from the Factory all night and noise from the highway. But great for a night and close to Canmore
Report Check-InDecent Campspot for one night. Stayed with a Tent. A Ranger visited us in the evening. Camping is absolutely fine here. Train and Road are a little bit noisy. Mostly the train because it was honking all the time at night.
Report Check-InLarge flat parking areas right off highway. Next to river and train tracks. Easy access for any size vehicle. Some road noise at night. Also, train comes through at random times and can be quite loud for a few moments
Report Check-InGood spot right next to dam. A bit of traffic noise but the sound of the water flowing through drowns it out a little. Cool area to walk around and check out.
Update: it's 10:41pm and the longest train just went by, sounding its horn half a dozen times.
Fishing boat launch area beside the dam. 3 spots in the main launch area and 1 around the corner (not as flat). Great spot for a night!
