Something not right?

Description

Very small area with fire ring for car or van camping. Level ground about 100 feet from the paved road. Could tent camp but you are close to Belton Stage Road so vehicles pass by periodically. We were able to pull in to give ourselves some privacy by blocking the road. Some noise from Route 2 but quiet at night.

One bar Verizon service. Not much dead wood so bring your own for fire.

We saw another camper down the road but didn’t see anyone else who looked like they were spending the night. No one bothered us though.

Lovely place to stay for a couple of nights and great hiking around. There are a number of different places to pull in, so if the first one doesn't work out for you, keep on driving and see what's available. I recommend getting here early as many of them were full. There is a lake nearby that I sat at for a while and could have swam in, but did not. I had T-Mobile cell service, though things were slow to upload and download. It was very quiet after dark. Quite lovely and peaceful. Would recommend!

Exactly as described by other posts. There is a lot of traffic on the road but it drops off significantly after dark. I camp in a small ground tent, there was plenty of space for that and my pickup truck. It would be difficult to find a good setup spot for anything larger than a 2 person backpacking tent.

There are several pull-outs along this road. Those marked were occupied but we just picked another one. Most of them are not large but we just have a van and it worked nicely! Some cell service was available. One bar on T-Mobile.

Report Check-In

Exactly as described. Perfect for a night.

Report Check-In

The listed spot was in use but we found a similar one a few hundred yards away. No signs prohibiting camping. An old fire ring and tire tracks show it’s been used before. Quiet.

Report Check-In

As described. Slept in rooftop tent and did feel a little "exposed" with the occasional car driving by in the middle of the night. However, the easy access to the park was worth it.

Also, pack out your trash.

Report Check-In

As described. Private spots along the road to pull into. Quiet, safe, dark and level. 2 to 3 bars of AT&T. Recommend 😁👍

Report Check-In

Exactly as described. Quiet private spot. A friendly reminder... please take your toilet paper and trash with you.

Report Check-In

A few pull ins on this road, the location marked was full so we drove down maybe 1/2 a mile and found another spot to park. We had service with T-Mobile and our AT&T hotspot. It was slightly busy due to a lake drop in down the road but it got quiet around 10pm.
