Large, flat pullout off of BLM road 4524 just before the creek ford. Located about a mile from the state line on County Road G, about 12 miles past the Sand Canyon Trailhead in Canyons of the Ancients NM.
No shade. I had between one and three bars for ATT cell service. Some intermittent road noise, but otherwise I had a couple very peaceful nights here.

Latest Check-Ins
This National Monument land. Sign says Travel restricted area. No off-road travel. Crossed the creek and drove up the hill a ways. There are no established disbursed camping spots, as far as I could see. The 3 sites below the road would do in a pinch, but I have time to look for better.
Report Check-InAs described. It's super easy to get into this area, and there are three possible spots. One is gigantic, you could fit any sized rig in there, and the other two are much smaller, but you could get anything smaller than 35 feet in them in a pinch. We had to, anyway, cause a car took the big spot.
There's a creek after the three spots, and presumably more spots over the hill. We saw pickups going through the creek, but it does get quite deep and we would've bottomed out in our 35 ft skoolie because of the dip.
Hardly any service. I sometimes get a bar of AT&T, but not enough to do anything with.
Oh, and I would be wary of this when it rains. As with most the ground around here, it'll turn to peanut butter when it gets wet.
