Custer State Park was full, so thankful for this app! This was an awesome spot to dry camp. We were shocked to find there were a few other campers here at 9 pm as it was a long way down a remote dirt road that is very well maintained. Thought we might just find a wide spot in the road somewhere to sleep, but no such thing, lol! Talked to a camper in the morning to find out this is a world famous spot for rock hunting! Walk or drive down rough road at campground 1-2 miles and find a treasure trove of rocks!
Report Check-InGreat little campground as described. Gravel roads leading to and into the CG suitable for all vehicles. Three camping areas: 1-2 sites on left right before the fence in a mowed area right along along the creek and well shaded by Cottonwoods. Fenced in area to left for walk in tenting with sun shades & table with parking adjacent. The fence is to keep the tent area free of cattle. 3rd area large mowed field to right.
Camped two days. Quite & peaceful. Only us and one other party here. Road to agate fields crosses French Creek and may require SUV/AWD/4x4 vehicle.
Verizon service one bar 4G.
