Seasonal closures. Closed to overnight parking, does not appear seasonal!!!
Sand camp is an official, free, dispersed campsite in the national forest. pit toilet and river access. big parking lot and lots of space for tents. permit for campfires is needed. lots of mosquitoes in early June.

Report Check-InThe information desk guy at Crescent City suggested I camp here. I was alone and it was wonderful. One pit toilet, a hiking trail across the road and tent sites by the river. No cell service.
Report Check-InPlenty of room for a lot of vehicles. Just a big gravel lot with a pit toilet, but there's a nice walk down to the river with tent camping sites. Camped in the gravel area in my VW bus. Very quiet and nice!
