Something not right?

Description

Near Beaver Campground ($20 per night!) we found this FREE wild spot right on the water. A bit of noise from the road but it’s in the NF so no heavy traffic. Fire ring, shade, river sounds and access, gorgeous green all around. No Verizon service, and not much large dead wood around so you might want to bring firewood. Plenty of places selling on the way in from Carson. Definitely some biting bugs in late may as the sun went down, but nothing unbearable with spray and layers. We fit our 18’ 2WD Chevy van in and positioned ourselves to block the access road and find level ground. Could tent camp, or bring a smaller vehicle. Can’t believe this place wasn’t already listed. Enjoy!

Latest Check-Ins

The turn into here is a little hard to see when it’s dark I had to turn around to the side it was on and turn on my brightness until I saw the little path. Probably would be easier in the day time. I turned right once I got on the path and parked at the first spot with a fire ring. It’s right by the river. I have LTE 1 bar. I can play Hulu lol. I like it 😊

Update: in the morning I saw a carcass and I didn’t know if it was human so I called the police 😅. They told me what to look for and to describe it and said hunters drop off the bodies of animals they kill 😭. It was horrible to see. I didn’t want to stay after that.

Report Check-In

Not too much traffic from Wind River Rd. Mostly an occasional logging truck. The trail into the spots allows for a van or similar sized rv at the first spot. The second spot further down the trail is better suited for a popup tent/camper though getting level and turning around will be difficult. Only trash was some TP.

Nice little private spot down behind a big busy area right on the river, a little past beaver campground. Not much fire wood and river is not too deep, I some rapids but you can walk right across them and pretty much much down the river walking is an option only cause it only goes maybe mid belly area...so good for kids.

Report Check-In

Easy access right off the highway, a little road noise but quiets down at night. Multiple access spots to the river and a little trail that goes right along it. One good flat spot for a tent, can fit a van but hard to find level ground to park it. Not a lot of wood to scavenge for a fire unless you go down the trail a little ways but lots of places along the highway selling firewood if you need it. A good amount of micro trash and some glass- leave it better than you found it! Good spot for a few nights

Report Check-In

Clean and beautiful. Overlooks the river but no good access points for river access. If you walk up the trail, there is potentially one area where it’s safe to get into the river. Some traffic noise but dies down at night. No verizon service.
