Nice spot to lay your head near Oceanside. Can be crowded but haven't had an issue getting a spot yet but summer might be a different story

Report Check-In

Was able to fill all my water containers here. The super nice man working said there are spigots throughout but they usually don’t work so he opened his back room and let me come in and fill up. Sink had a nice hose to reach down into my big 6gal ones. Said it’s totally drinkable too. Thank you, nice man working here! Also great rest stop to walk dog and safe night’s sleep. I don’t mind a bit of traffic noise so it’s a non-issue for me. People sleeping during the day, and all night.

Report Check-In

Arrived at 9:30 pm and left at 8:30 am no problem there, bathroom super clean! Great night of sleep even though there is a bit of noise from the freeway.

Report Check-In

Packed parking lot, but okay for the night. Max 8h, not sure if this is strictly enforced.

Report Check-In

A bit noisy with how busy the area is and all the trucks but was able to spend to spend the night from about 7pm to 830am without incident. It looked like many other vehicles doing the same.

Report Check-In

As described. Had a good nights rest, several others stayed the night as well.

Report Check-In

Stayed here for 1 night! Theres signs for no overnight parking, max 8 hours.. but honestly it seems like no one enforces this because the parking lot was packed!

Both sides - the regular car lot & truck lot both had lots of people sleeping overnight in their cars so overall felt pretty safe. We got in around 7 or so and left around 9.

Report Check-In

Reasonably clean bathrooms. Vending machines (even some with sandwiches). The downsides are that is is very busy here and the truck and car parking are right next to each other so you’ll hear the truck engines. Verizon cell pretty good.

Report Check-In

Running water, bathrooms, and vending machines. cold water fountains .

Report Check-In

It was a great place to stay. A lot of people and a lot of cars. A bit noisy but there’s a good place for dogs to pee and there’s restrooms and vending machines. Overall I felt safe. It’s better to get here early-ish. We got there at around 8:30-9pm and there were still a lot of spots but they filled up quick. I recommend this rest stop. Legal and easy.

Report Check-In

Stayed here overnight with no issues. It was a bit louder but that’s expected at rest stops. Bathrooms were open & there was a nice picnic area under some trees. This is a great location to stay if you’re planning on avoiding traffic in San Diego or LA.

We stayed with our camper from 6:30pm on a Sunday night until 9am. We were not disturbed. Plenty of RVs here that stayed longer than that as well. There was lots of space for trucks, so maybe they only really enforce the 8-hour rule when it gets too packed. Lots of bathrooms, water fountains (we filled up a couple bottles), AMAZING vending machines with sandwiches and coffee, some space to walk dogs and lots of garbage cans. I recommend it, seeing as there are so few free spots around here for bigger rigs.

Report Check-In

Accidentally ended up in the area on a Sunday night long weekend and surprised to find campgrounds sold out everywhere. This worked for the night in a pinch. Noisy trucks but expected. Busiest rest stop I’ve stayed at in my life! Lots of others sleeping in vehicles. Clean bathrooms. Felt pretty safe.

Report Check-In

Decent bathrooms, nice breeze off the ocean. Also VERY loud from both I-5 and truck parking 5 feet away from passenger vehicle parking. Loudest rest stop I've stayed at in my life. Vending machines have an enormous selection but quite expensive (4$ for a normal sized bottle of water??)

Report Check-In

loooooots of traffic and noise. if you can push for few hours and sleep near san Diego it's better. however everybody is sleeping here so you won't be bothered

Report Check-In

Noisy but only rest area on I-5 northbound between San Diego and L.A.
Vans keep left to not block scarce truck parking. Area gets full by around 8pm. Toilets, free. Officially max stay 8hrs, but cops were okay with me and my 15hrs.

Report Check-In

Also one on the other side (southbound). Very nice sea view and clean toilets.
