Beautiful alpine setting. Large flat spot with enough room for larger vehicles or a small group. Fire rings. Short walk to Dome Rock and a forest hike.
Dead end road so no traffic except those camping a bit further down the road. Dead quiet except wind in the trees. 3.000m altitude.

Open. Accessible for 2WD vehicles. Mostly level. Easily room for several vans or 1-2 larger vehicles. Short walk to Dome Rock.
Report Check-InNot permanently closed. Came July 4th weekend and there were many people boondocking closer to the trailhead.
Truly is a beautiful site. Very secluded with fire ring. Didn’t stay at this exact spot since I’m in a sedan but stayed right before the road gets hella rocky and bumpy
This place is back open after the fire. I just added a current picture of the info board showing 14 day limit on camping. I was there yesterday and there were both campers and day trippers there.
Report Check-InDome Rock is open again for camping. It’s surroundings are not the same after the fire, but the rock is still as magnificent as ever, and camping among the manzanita and under the trees is again available. 14 day limit, and propane fires only.
Report Check-InCurrently closed due to forest fire. Was informed by forest ranger. Nice place with distant view of north and south. Quite quiet and dry at this time. Temperature above freezing. Caution: main road are not plowed when snowed
