Report Check-Instayed in site 1. this forest is amazing - so much space between campsites you essentially have your own swath of forest. moss and ferns and trees everywhere. primitive sites with a picnic table and fire ring.
Report Check-InFree camping with permit. Able to request permit via phone or email during business hours. The state forest has tons of spots and it was a very easy process to pick one. The ranger suggested this location for an easy on/off of Route 80. Drove a little ways down a gravel road but no 4WD or high clearance necessary. Two picnic tables and a fire ring but fires were not permitted when we stayed. A little buggy at night but not too bad. Very quiet but some chipper birds in the early morning. Great place to stay!
