beautiful large park with a few food vendors on the perimeter. we arrived just after a large event had ended. spoke to local police and they said no problem for staying here but to wait til most of the folks/cars had left. (we parked on a nearby side street as we have a van with a 19 ft trailer.) safe. quiet. friendly. highly recommend even if its just to enjoy the park.

We had a quiet night here. We asked to the security before and the man said no problem to stay here overnight. It is a big park with playground. There is also drinking water. Free

We asked the security if we can stay overnight with our rooftop-tent. Null problemo! Great stay for city sightseeing of Chihuahua. Beautiful Museums, and friendly people. Finally we stayed for two nights. Even had the chance to watch a Baseball game! Cool

Got here based on comments provided by other overlanders. Did not get disappointed. universitad bathroom available 24/7. park has yrack, tennis court, soccer arena ..... In the evening locals come here a lot to enjoy the park. The lot is pretty busy. Initially we're concerned when we got here. talked to Parking security folks if it was okay. He gave us the green light and told us to park behind the bleachers. Parked three nights here. walked over to Musuems and Centro. They are Abot 40 min. walk from here. pretty safe area. Definitely recommend the place.

Great city park-up spot. highly recommend checking with the security guy where exactly to park. we were woken in the night by a friendly security guy asking us to move to another space as they needed our spot to set up for an event next day. otherwise a great place.

I was unable to access the Cassetta de Vigalance using my GPS navigation, but a very kind jogger helped me gain access to the correct parking lot off of Avenido Division de Norte. There are a dozen parking lots...easy to get confused!
Great spot to get out and stretch your legs and burn some calories. And the Elote cart was a good way to get some more calories back in. :-)

We stayed several nights here. The place is in a good area of the town, feels 100% safe. We were next to the theatre (teatro de los heroes), where you have access to a fast free wifi (wifi_uach). During the day you may use the toilets in the next building (Coordination General de Technologias), if you enter through the main door follow the short corridor to the left.
Maximum vehicle size is probably around 20‘.

We talked to the security and they were more than happy to let us stay, super friendly. He asked us to park right in front of his little booth.

The park is big and attracts lots of people, great for some excessive if you want.

This park is huge. Adjacent to the University of Chihuahua sport complex, it is rightfully called ‘La ciudad deportiva’ (the city of sports). You can find here almost every Olympic sport, including a full size pool, track and field, a full size baseball park, many basketball, football (soccer) and many other sports.
You also find 2 theatres, some outside amphitheaters, food trucks, and free Wi-Fi access in many places. Toilets are available in some of the buildings. Many security guards patrol the place.
The vegetation is almost as beautiful as a botanical garden. The park is owned and maintained by the State of Chihuahua Gov.
This is not a super camping place but a secure boondock for a few nights. Beats Wal-Mart anytime!!!
There are many entrances around the compound (some closed) but I used the one on ‘Div. del Norte’ street, between the 2 theatres that give access to a big parking lot. Gates are opened from 7 am to 10 pm.
Close by you find a big supermarket (Alsuper) HSBS, Banamex and Scotia bank and ATM, and some restaurants.

This place is huge. They call it rightfully 'La ciudad deportiva' or the sport city. You can practice here every Olympic sport. Full size indoor pool, baseball s tadium, track and field, basketball, football (both soccer and american), and many other sports.
You will find food stalls, and a botanical garden. The park is owned and maintained by the State of Chihuahua and is adjacent to University sport complex.
Close by you find a supermarket (Alsuper), HSBC bank and atm as well as restaurants. Also clean toilets in some of the many buildings. No shower.
This is not a super campground, but for a free boondock, it beats Wal mart anytime. Opened from 7am to 10pm, gates are closed at night. Very quiet. Security patrol once in while. They never bothered me the few days I stayed.
I used the big parking lot behind the 2 Theatres.

After speaking to policemen, they told us to park here. Free. Don't know of there are toillets. They close the entrance to the parking lot at 1030pm although it is posible to enter after that time. Place has security all night. We slept here BEFORE CROSSING THE BORDER that is 350km away.

Large parking lot at Central Park, stadium, and sports complex. Park over by the caseta de vigilancia where there are 24 hour guards. Bathrooms are available in the stadium. Free.
