Stayed two nights. Great sleep. Then the knock and told to leave and several others were as to leave. Can’t stay here! Please mark this closed.

Report Check-In

A ranger came to let us know it was not allowed to stay There for the night. He said it was 150$ ticket.

Report Check-In

Took the risk, but … at midnight a ranger sent us away. In the Park is „No Camping“. Obviously! So decide on your own … we don’t like stress at night.

Report Check-In

Very nice but windy when we were there. Very good for a free stay, nobody bothered us and there were a handful, most waiting to get out on the beach at 7am sharp for surffishing.

Great place to park and car camp spent the night no problems at all

spent one night here, it an amazing spot and dark and quite at night. I was a bit unsure if i wanted to risk it, since it said no camping on the beach, but there was no signs about no overnight parking, so I took the risk. there was another car all night too, and a lot of fisherman in the evening and morning.
we spoke to another couple and they thought it was to risky to stay on the parking lot at night, so they paid for the campingground close by, it cost 20 doller, if you dont wanna risk it!

there is a fish cleaning station with multiple water spigots for water right across from ramp 44 to the beach. Park ranger told me all the water around here is potable. Just hook up your hose. It is right outside the gates to Cape point Campground. Which is a great spot to stay it’s only $10 a night if you have a national park pass this is my third night there and I loved it.

beautiful area. pulled in late last night & the moon was bright, so there were a lot of fishermen out. they were respectful, seemed to be locals. lot is open 24-7 to people looking to fish late & surf early, and it's a mellow/ calm place. a good breeze off the ocean, which was perfect.

Great free place to spend a night near the beach. We had intended to stay at the nearby Cape Point CG but it was closed for the season (the dump site as well). A couple cars drove in late at night but otherwise quiet except for the wind. We used the two Porta-Pottys nearby in the morning.

Report Check-In

Great spot. There was another van but otherwise no other cars. You could hear the ocean and it was dark and quiet.

A nice wild beach parking, near the waves, at the entrance to the beach access spot. Sandy ‘parking’, seems like half of the parking is flooded right now with big puddles. Lots of fishermen when we arrived on the beach, need a permit to drive on the beach itself. The fishermen left after sunset though and it was quiet after that.

Report Check-In

This is a nice level lot with drive on beach access. We spent the day and one night there. It was Labor Day weekend so it was fairly busy during the day but it seemed to be mostly locals. Signs for no camping on the beach but a few cars were in the lot all night.

The stars are BEAUTIFUL! We didn't arrive until after dark but there were still quite a few cars here and many people out walking the beach but it's very dark and quiet! There are porta potties a 5 minute walk away. The surfers arrive at sunrise and it can be a little loud then but I recommend just getting up and watching the sunrise, you won't regret it. The park ranger came by but didn't say anything to anyone, maybe he was just there to watch the sunrise too!

Report Check-In

Beautiful spot! Just note that it's fully exposed to the ocean breeze, so on a gusty night you might get jostled around a bit.

Report Check-In

Stayed here with no problem. Busy but quiet after dark. Left the doors open until the bugs started to find the lights. Would stay again.

Report Check-In

Slept here last night and it was amazing! Heard the ocean all night and I don’t think another car came in the parking lot all night. There are signs that say “no camping on beach” but no no overnight camping signs.
I did see reviews on google maps saying the ranger is very rude.
There is a paid camping spot just down the road if you don’t want to risk it. But can’t beat free camping with the sounds of the waves.
