lovely campground within Capitol Reef National Park! $25/night ($12.50 w/Access Pass)! real bathrooms w/running water, picnic tables, water fill stations (no showers unfortunately). short walking distance to the Gifford House (go buy pie— earlier the better before they sell out), walk along the Freemont River/through the orchards!

even in this season loveley. facilities as described. lots of deer and a warning for ( not seeing) mountain lion. The cohab canyon trail opposite the campsite is very good. and do not forget the scenic drive all the way up to the Golden Throne trail parking. Awesom!
Large beautiful campground, with deer grazing among the apple trees behind our campsite. Fresh pies available at the visitor center.
Report Check-InOh wow! What a beautiful campground! We booked in advance and stayed there for 2 nights. Potable water, dump station and toilets. No shower.
You can pick up fruits (pears, apples, peaches) in orchards in the area, there is also a store just aside the camping where you can buy fresh pies. The camping is close to trailheads and visitor center. I recommend.
Also! Just note: the rangers mentioned us that mountain lions and rattlesnakes have been seen in the campground area. There are also deers and turkeys everywhere on the campground.
Report Check-In$20. No cell service. All the sites had a "reserved" tag but we checked with the host and there were several sites available. All sites are FCFS after Nov 1. Campground is walking distance to several trailheads and activities.
Report Check-In71 sites.
On the info sheet, it says there’s a handful of sites that are first come first serve, so we did not even try.
Free camping 8 miles away and you can use dump station (+potable water) for $5.
Dump and water available. Didn't stay at campground although it is lovely with grass and full grown shade trees. Filled up our water tank and headed outside the park to boondock. $5 fee to use dump station
