Came in late last night and just parked at this pull off close to the main road. Woke up to the beautiful New Mexico Badlands. I went on a short walk with my dog both ways and took in the sights for a little before heading out. The place was quiet all night (I stayed in my conversion van). As with most badlands, it was windy. This place is definitely for camper vans and car campers. RVs and bigger campers won’t fit. Great AT&T reception. There are also a couple of picnic tables, gazebos, and a pit toilet about 200 yards from this area.

Beautiful views! 3 bars on Verizon & far enough off the main road that you don’t hear any road noise.
Report Check-InEasy spot for the night - large, level, and plenty of space for big rigs. Dark and quiet at night. No traffic noise. Some early morning oil workers nearby. Great cell reception.
Report Check-Inshowed up in the dark and woke up to a beautiful sunrise over the canyons. like everyone else said, not sure if it’s meant for overnight parking but no one checked. there are some lights from construction at night. highly recommend regardless at least just for the view.
Report Check-InPerfect stop! Angel Overlook. Quiet and peaceful. Picnic table and fire pit. Gorgeous view! Off highway 550 on Rd 7175 west. Good hike down to the canyon.
Report Check-InA great spot! Turn east off US-550 at the sign for Angel Fire BLM land. First mile of the good dirt road or so is truck traffic and then it wanders all the way to an official campground. Along the route are multiple small shelters with picnic tables and fire rings, and great views of the badlands. My 2WD Sprinter had no issues except bumps on the road, so I went slowly. Relatively flat, no shelter, 3 bars VZN LTE.
Report Check-InAmazing spot just about a quarter to half mile off the highway. Wash board road the whole way so take it slow. Looks like most people pass this spot to get to the other sites so it was empty for the night. I had enough space to set up my truck and 20' trailer right along the edge, a bigger rig would fit if the place is empty. At least take a look before you pass by.
