Something not right?

Description

Close to Lake Atravezado is a little lake (Laguna Cea) with a pull-out and a couple of spots where people seem to camp and make fires. Fairly visible from the road but nobody bothered us and there was hardly any traffic. Very quiet at night but the spots at the lake are fairly exposed to wind. We found a protected spot by pulling in just before the official road. There are a couple of tire tracks down to trees that provided us with a fairly good wind cover. The only infrastructure is a trash can.

Muddy or swampy when raining, but one of the only nice spots easily reachable by bike from the city

Forgot to add some up to date pictures, so will add some. There are several leveled spots (3-4), depending on if you have a van or a car with high clearance. With our van we could stay at 3 from 4 spots. Entrance is possible for all vehicles, but big rigs might be a problem to park.

It was a sunny day, so we picked this spot for a swim in the lake and a relaxing afternoon and evening. The spot has beautiful views, with lots of green and some snowy mountains far away. BUT véry windy at times. Although around 8pm it calmed down. Also visited by locals during the day (doing picnic/kayak etc), but after 9:30pm we didn’t see anyone anymore and it was a very quiet night. The morning also very quiet, almost no cars in the morning, while during the day I found it pretty busy. You are visible from the road but didn’t bother us. Movistar 3G, but didn’t really work. Worth a visit if you are looking for a night to sleep outside the city or enjoying a sunny day!

Exactly as described, wind and all. Trash can doesn’t look like it gets emptied so just take your trash with you.

Amazing spot! As others mentioned, the main spot is very exposed and the winds seem like they can get quite strong, so we chose to enter further back and park in the trees. There are some faint tire tracks leading down towards the lake before the main entrance, if you’ve got 4x4 you’ll be fine!

There are tons of wildflowers and it’s incredibly peaceful. You’re visible from the road, but so few cars pass by that it’s no big deal. We haven’t gone in the lake yet, but there’s a nice little sandy section of beach where you can go swimming.

Absolutely wonderful spot, if you’re in the area or if you have an extra day or two to drive out here from Coyhaique it’s well worth the visit!

Good spot, fairly close from town, although a little bit exposed and not too much privacy, lots of locals on weekends.

Great wild camping spot. We stayed a couple of days, doing spring cleaning, playin in the river, building a raft, suping and swimming.

If you follow the road, there is a farm 2kms away selling fresh veggie, nice salad and cilamtro. On the other side lovely family selling yummy roseghip jam, bread and renting kayak.

We loved staying here.
We try to find a spot along the folowing lake, no public access.

Good flat spot, quiet and room for several cars. However the wind became ferocious in the middle of the night and continued morning. We slept well but our friends in the roof top tent got rocked a little too much :) No facilities.

Little spot for 2 cars, next to the Laguna and small beach. Visible from the road but not much traffic.
