Report Check-In

relatively flat, other people around, beautiful view, otters galore in the cove

Report Check-In

This was lovely! The views, the peace and quiet, and a great night's sleep. How can you go wrong? Only one minor problem at 2230 when the people in the van behind me cranked up the music so loud I imagine that USGS seismographs where having fits. Thankfully they left!!!

Not to belabor a point, but as so many other people have mentioned, this spot is a gift to all of us, so please keep it clean, and don't draw a lot of attention to yourselves.

Report Check-In

Arrived at around 7 PM. January so winter time.
Tbh, it seems you could stay anywhere along the road, several miles ahead it’s super quiet.
This specific spot is at around the end of the residential area, quite fancy neighborhood and little people and cars around (possibly coz winter).
There’s were a couple of camper vans here and a few cars so it felt safer to stay here rather than alone further down the coast.
No problem at all. A couple night doll walkers, cars start passing by in the morning.
Left at around 10AM and it was pleasant to stay here.

REALLY hope people don’t ruin this spot! We arrived late and saw other vans nearby. Everyone was quiet and we had no trouble at all. Woke up to a beautiful view with the bathroom right nearby. Amazing location, very quiet street, really appreciated it.

Report Check-In

I stayed 2 nights with no issues - gorgeous ocean views, light traffic (but it’s audible - if you’re a light sleeper it may not be great for you).

Right next to a park that winds around the coast. Beautiful for morning or evening walks, close to public restrooms at lovers point (they’re around the side of beach cafe).

From exploring the area, this seems like one of the only stretches of street parking where you can park overnight. There was another rig ahead of me and a couple other vans on the street.

This is a treasure so I really hope others don't ruin this. Nice n quiet, gorgeous view. I arrived late, ready to sleep and woke up early to a beautiful seascape. Be respectful of neighbors and arrive late/leave early. If you head over to Asilomar Beach, there's lots of daytime parking (can't park there midnight to 5pm) it's super close and right on the water.

Report Check-In

Oceanside and quiet. Light foot traffic in the morning.

Report Check-In

A really great car camping spot. No signs, lots of space, very little light, no bothers. Residential but very quiet. It’s a popular morning walking / running route though so use blinds/window covers if you have them since there is some light morning foot traffic.

.....
This place was fantastic. There’s a beach, bathroom, a park (open 24 hrs), a restaurant… so lots of people. Felt very safe and blended in. I had to park near the park because the cops were here forever last night (interrogating some people for who knows what) right near my car and I didn’t want to get in and drive to attract attention. This spot by the park is perfectly fine other than the trash truck at 6am and the lawn mowers at 7:30am. Argh! I have insomnia and had just fallen back to sleep when the mowers started. Seagulls didn’t bother me one bit though! Overall great spot.

Report Check-In

Great spot for overnight camping. No issues at all. Busy in the morning but nothing too crazy.

Lots of spaces and a lot of people also staying overnight.

Report Check-In

Stayed overnight and woke up to a great view without any incident. Saw some deers walking by the water. Farmers market on Monday evening near downtown. 5* will stay here again next time

Report Check-In

Parked NW of this map point on the ocean-facing side of the road. Cop knocked at 1am and said we had to move even though there were no signs prohibiting overnight camping anywhere nearby. Said it wasn't allowed along the oceanside all the way from there to lover's point. We just moved to the other side of the road, and were not hassled again (not sure if overnight parking is allowed on the non-ocean-facing side or if we just got lucky)

Report Check-In

Great spot right in front of the beach. Stayed for 2 nights. No issues.

Report Check-In

*Notice* Locals are communicating on NextDoor to start petitioning to get this street shut down to overnight parking due to people using generators early/leaving trash. Please be responsible and respectful everywhere you travel.

Great spot, had no problems and woke up to seals on the rocks in the morning. The morning was very active outside with people jogging and walking their dogs. Although there are multiple public bathrooms within a couple miles at least one (the one to the north) closes at night and doesn't always open when it should.

Report Check-In

Nice spot relatively quiet except for seagulls😊 beautiful park and walking trail. legal to park and had no problems whatsoever.

Report Check-In

I stayed at this spot several nights over the course of a week and a half and never had any issues! It’s fantastic spot right on the ocean. Nice public bathrooms are a 5 minute walk down the road.

Report Check-In

Absolutely STUNNING views. Lots of traffic noise since you’re parked right on the a busy street, but it’s a beautiful spot to stay a night or two. Lots of restaurants in town. The trail on the beach stretches for about 4 miles so it’s a good evening or morning walk. Seagulls are active at 530a :)

Report Check-In

Parked fine one night no issues second time parking in this area a local went around and put printouts of some ordinance passed in 2019 prohibiting sleeping in vehicles on van windshield and several other vans as well. Stinks because we had a great time in this area and even picked up trash we found, spent money every morning at Beach House cafe, dinner above at Beach House restaurant, pizza at Giannis. Looks like they don’t want vanlife tourism revenue.

Report Check-In

Street parking overlooking the bay/cliffs. Safe and relatively quiet!

Report Check-In

We pulled in about 6:30 pm with just a few cars and one van around. It is a beautiful location and easy to get to. Great cell service. Some road noise and the sea gulls were our alarm clock. But we aren’t complaining. This spot is spectacular. We woke up to several other overnighters. No issues, no knocks, no tickets!

Report Check-In

Parked my van on Ocean View Blvd near Lovers Point, in front of Perkins Park for one night. Beautiful view, 0 hassle besides foot traffic during the day. highly recommend

Report Check-In

Beautiful road overlooking the ocean. If your van is under 22 feet you can park here overnight! We were joined by many other vans. Just have to check the signs because there are some spots where signs prohibit longer stays than 2 hours and some where there’s no no overnight parking signs. We stayed two nights and weren’t bothered.

Report Check-In

Along a beach path near Lover’s Point. Beautiful views, public bathroom nearby at the Point. There’s a park with picnic tables and grills too. Close to downtown area. Street noise/ some car traffic until around 9 or 10 and people are using the path fairly early. Not bothered at all either night I stayed along this road near the Point.

Report Check-In

Beautiful! We arrived at around 10:30pm on a Friday night, tons of open spots along the road. We parked behind another van and could see several vans ahead, as well. A little road noise, but once we fell asleep it was completely fine and didn’t wake up once until morning. The views in the morning are simply breathtaking, all ocean. Great little walking path that is heavily trafficked and easy access to town, food, coffee, etc. Hopefully this doesn’t close or become restricted. We plan to stay again.

Report Check-In

This is a parking place along the road. I looked up the city ordnance on overnight parking and it is ok if your rig is under 22” long and 9’6” high. There is a beautiful view of Monterey Bay.
