Description

We went into the restaurant and had some nice food and a cold beer!
The great South Africans family loves overlanders (they have also now two trucks). They let us stay on their parking place with a great view to the dunes.
Great view to the stars in the night and a perfect start to climb the dunes early morning!
Good Wifi in the restaurant.
We had a small electronical problem with the brakes. Since they have a long car mechanical experience, they helped us very quickly.

These guys are just outstanding. We came in the afternoon and had a cold drink and ended up talking to them and learning much about the dunes around Walvis and how they are used for dakar rally training and concept vehicle tests. They offered us to stay for the night in their backyard. We ended up staying two nights and also did a quad bike tour with them, which was good fun (there was no pressure from them to make us spend money at their shop). They are genuinely kind and likes to deal with overlanders.

It is also possible to camp at the public parking of Dune 7.

Quad bikes, sand boarding and a nice restaurant with character like the affable owners. Overlanders oasis! Family run and great fun near the dunes.
