Lakeside, great view, close to road, but minimal traffic. Same amenities as the provincial park down the road, but this is free!
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
Open space near the lake.
Beautiful view on the mountain and cean and quite. About 200 mt there is a rest area with pit toilette
To reiterate this is a separate spot from the rest area. The next two pulloffs immediately south of the rest area will lead you to a seperate spot with picnic tables, bins, fire rings, and no signs about camping. Some highway noise but absolutely beautiful.
Report Check-Inmost beautiful place we stayed in northern BC so far. the no overnight sign refered to below is in the rest area itself, the spot is right by the lake after going down a little hill, all vehicles can access it; nothing indicating you cannot stay overnight. we had a lovely stay looking at the mountains by the campfire. one or two other vans were there and we were spaced enough to be comfortable and not see eachother.
Report Check-InStunning view! Amazing spot to spend the day and a night! Not closed! No phone service at all.
Report Check-InTough hill for class B, but wow what a pretty lake - will stay the day in the Rest Area
Report Check-InThis is a great boondocking site and a fantastic spot beside the lake. We backed the fifth wheel into side road on the southern side of the main clearing. This made for great privacy. The main clearing is a turnaround and services a boat launch. Rubbish bins are present. The trees also blocked some of the traffic noise however this was minimal during the night. Didn't have to walk for to throw in a line!
Report Check-InRest Area by lake. Big gravel area with pit toilets and picnic tables. Seems to be a favorite hang out place for young adults and teens. Several groups have stopped during the night. Pretty noisy. Minimal traffic though...
Report Check-InNice place with beautiful view. Clear water and slight breeze. Next to highway but during night it was quiet. Garbage bins available. No mosquitos!
Report Check-InAs others have said the turnoff is the west side of the road and 50m south of the rest area where the pit toilet is. We were the only ones so got the spot to the left of the tables. Great views and very quiet.
Report Check-InOne of our fav wild camping spots so far!
Theres a large gravel area w 2 picnic tables but if you drive a bit further down into the trees theres a more private spot with a small beach & firepit to yourself!
Barely saw anyone else come by - 1 other camper came to the large gravel spot late in the evening & was gone before we woke up.
At this time of year & weather there were almost no bugs!!! So nice & pretty with the breeze too. No cell service here
Report Check-In5 out of 5 for this stop. Easy access off the hwy. Stone fire ring. Magnificent views.
Report Check-InGreat place to stay, pretty quite at night. i open a tent near the lake.
seems like a private lake just for you!
Left this place again despite that I wanted to stay here. Locals with 8 kids came played loud music and annoying children who alwasys cam to us and bothered us. They didn't listen to their parents.
Sad to leave because it's a wonderful place and we saw loons and a bald eagle fishing.
Report Check-InNice campsites. As others said take the first right south of the rest area. It's not very steep and smooth. The campsite on the south end is where we stayed. Very private and your own pebble beach in the lake.
Report Check-Init is not the rest area, it is just 50m before directly at the Lake, beautiful, quite place, also for big rigs, perfekt view, picnic table
Report Check-InBeautiful spot right on the lakeshore. Take the first entrance just south of the rest area as it is less steep. We were fine In our 28 foot motorhome with tow car. A couple vehicles driving through late at night and one honked at us but we stayed a second night and it was very quiet and peaceful.
Report Check-InReally nice spot on the lake! 2 entrances, one is smooth. 2wd ok!! Nice private spot on the left side when you look the water!!
Report Check-Inmotel rooms camping by the water. canoes to rent. laundry available 10 per load.
Report Check-InGreat spot, perfect for a stopover. Views over lake are fantastic in setting sun.
The fish were jumping but not onto the line.
Nice and quiet.
It is right next to a rest area where there is no overnight parking, don’t get confused.
Great place to spend a quiet night with one other Rv and 2 cars! Take care, there are 2 entrances; the first - after the gravelpit with "Lake-sign" is the less steepest!
Report Check-InGreat little area off the road. Tables and bins. Little noise from road. GREAT LOCATION FOR NORTHERN LIGHTS!!
Report Check-InGreat spot as previously described. Lucked out and got the secluded spot on the left. To my fellow Overlanders. If you are going to use the great outdoors as a toilet, could you please bury your toilet paper. It takes a long time to break down and after a while it becomes a real eyesore. If we don't respect these free camping spots we are going to lose them. Thanks
Report Check-InPeak season seems to be over, we were alone on this wonderful place, no people and no mosquitos.
Report Check-InCame here because so many check-ins mentioned the trout. Left with enough fish for a big lunch for the family. A little busy on a summer Saturday night, eight cars were here.
Report Check-InNice campsite directly at the shore of Eddontenajon Lake with a great view. Close to Cassiar Highway but there is very little traffic. Access is on a steep gravel road 200 m south of the Rest Area.
Report Check-InVery beautiful lake! Catched some trouts! If you're going north, The place is about 150 meters before the rest area comes! Very nice spot on the left side! :)
Report Check-Inbeautiful evening here, clear lake, great views, pit toilets 200m up the road
Report Check-InLakeside, great view, close to road, but minimal traffic. Same amenities as the provincial park down the road, but this is free!
Report Check-InPicknick spot right on the lake shore - one secluded place a bit to the left plus a lot more space on the gravel area in the center. Unfortunately very windy when we stayed.
Report Check-Inthe highway is not far but it is quiet at night. these are actually two independent sites: one is the rest stop with one pit toilet. the real site is just 200m south of it, down a small, short, steep gravel road. it is directly at the lake, beautiful. has litter bins, picnic tables and stone fire rings.
Report Check-InBeautiful Recreation site.
Beautiful views. It doesn't get any better than this.
very best wild camping with many trut to catch . ok with my motorhome of 24feet . fire place . we can eat the feet on the water...
Report Check-InVery nice location. We caught rainbow trout. Very crowded with locals during the day until sunset but we found a calm spot.
Report Check-InThis place is in wrong location - it is located at 57.76283, -129.97151
