Description

First rest area westbound in Alabama. We pulled in and we were pleasantly surprised to find a nice open rest area. I was overly cautious about no overnight parking. So I must have walked around the entire rest area three times looking for signs. I did not find a single sign that said no overnight parking, and there are truck spots that were full overnight. There are picnic tables everywhere and the bathrooms were open. Signs saying “no pets“ and then a couple feet later saying “keep pets on leash.” So we just walked around and nobody bothered us. We are in a camper van so we pulled into the van spots and had a nice quiet night.

Malgré l’affiche ¨no overnight¨ à l’entrée du rest area nous y avons très bien dormi de 20h à 6h. Nous avons un Promaster classe B.

I had no problem staying until 9 am, even with no overnight parking sign—really nice bathrooms.

The Alabama Welcome Center in Siminole, Alabama, is a great place to park overnight. It is clean, quiet, and has plenty of parking spaces.
We arrived at the rest area around 6:30 pm and there were plenty of spots available. We parked our Promaster in a flat parking spot near the center of the lot that was close to the restrooms and vending machines. The restrooms were very clean and well-maintained. There were also several vending machines available, which was convenient for snacks and drinks.
We slept soundly in our van and didn't hear much noise from the highway. We were also impressed with how clean the rest area was. There was very little trash around and the landscaping was well-maintained.
We would highly recommend this welcome center in Alabama to anyone looking for a safe and clean place to park overnight.

Yeah, I don't really understand the "no overnight parking" sign when you enter the rest area - it's a rest area! So I stayed the night (along with many others) without any issues. It's a pretty nice rest area with lots of grass and picnic tables. I slept great.

It's a rest area, so you are for the most part ok for one night. Just be aware of the area you are in. It's Baldwin county, Alabama. Gulf Shores, Orange Beach, Foley, Fairhope, Spanish Fort, Daphne, Bay Minette. My point is i've lived here for many years and know first hand the conservative lack of discretion local law enforcement operate under, enforcing victimLess crime laws of all manners, not just drugs or anything specific. They enforce them ALL religiously, so be wary in that respect.

Sign says no overnight parking. We don’t seek trouble so we left.

I-10 Rest area just over Alabama line. Clean bathrooms, gross tasting water.

Came in around 5:30 pm and there was plenty of parking spots available! The bathrooms were clean and it wasn’t too noisy

Report Check-In

There is a no overnight parking sign as you enter the rest area but there seemed to be many cars and trucks planning to spend the night. We left around 11pm because it was so loud, too many trucks left running.
