Description

This is a turnout off of Hughes road with an amazing view of Casteic Lake and canyons below. There are no signs indicating that you can not park here or stay over night. We parked around 2pm and went on a 3 hour bike ride (it is an awesome ride if you are looking for road biking). We have a 22’ trailer with pick up. No 4wd necessary. No cars parked here, no one drove by all night, no one asked us to leave. Awesome sunset AND sunrise.

I wrote a lot but then it closed so I’m just gonna say go it was nice.

Report Check-In

We had to stay at a spot before the bend because the road was closed just before this spot due to mudslides. Honestly there are plenty of pullouts along this road that would be suitable. Make sure you have a park pass or something. Really beautiful spot though, good hiking spots nearby.

Report Check-In

Good spot for the night. Not quite level. Pretty views, but the entire hillside beyond the road is covered in trash.
The campground that is immediately off the highway on this road also let us fill up our water tank for free on our way out.

Report Check-In

good views, relatively flat, erratic cell service. the hills below were sadly covered in trash. used toilet paper, broken bottles, fast food.

we were able to get water at the RV park down the road.

I love the view here, not as scheduled as I'd like, but there is cell phone service. It's always a great place for the night and not having a fire.
