Large area. Some bushes protect against wind. You can camp close to the lake shore. Windsurf, fish, relax here. A good boon dock option near El Calafate. Good for all rigs.
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
Indeed it’s written that it’s not allowed to stay here overnight. However we stayed there the whole day to work online (good 4G) and it was perfect. Then we drove few meters after the Club Nautico to sleep the night.
Report Check-InAsigne now forbids overnight camping for cars or campers. For à nice and lonely spot, keep on driving west and you will find spots along the lake after the « clubo nautico «
Report Check-InPeninsula with dispersed camping options on Lago Argentina. You may have some wind protection from the bushes if you’re in a tent, but they’re too low to provide any protection for rooftop tents or pop-up roofs like ours. As said, some trash around. Unfortunately, several cars passed by during the night (Thursday night) to chill for a while and drive away (waking us up a couple of times). Nice view of the lake though. Perfect 4G Claro.
Report Check-InLarge place, quiet at night. Windy. Lot of trash (even condoms) at some parts, other parts are better. Close to the city, but quit nice views. Ok for a night. Possible with 2WD, but some roads are really sandy, be careful
Report Check-InPeaceful place to spend the night, facing the city ligths at the Argentino lake.
Please, take you trash with you!
Quiet and pleasant place to spend the night. On the edge of the lake with a beautiful view. There are no facilities close by. Claro's 4G internet works well. It is not protected from the wind.
Lugar silencioso e agradável pra passar a noite. Na beira do lago com uma bela vista. Não tem facilidades por perto. Internet 4G da Claro funciona bem. Não é protegido do vento.
Report Check-InVery quiet and beautiful view over calafate with an amazing sunrise. Didn't look like a lot of wind shelter but fortunately it wasn't windy at all.
Report Check-InVery nice place close to El Calafate. We stayed here with some other overlanders but you can still get your own privacy because of all the bushes. Really quiet at night.
Report Check-InÓtimo lugar! Lago por todos lados, vista de El Calafate iluminada de noite. Ficamos uns 3 dias aqui com outros 3 motorhomes. Sinal de Internet boa.
Quando venta muito pode ser ruim.
Report Check-InVery good place, spacious and quiet. Silent night with the possibility of finding positions that protect from the wind. It's on the edge of the lake.
Lugar muito bom , amplo e sossegado. Noite silenciosa e com possibilidade de encontrar posições que protegem do vento. Fica na beira do lago.
Report Check-InGood place to stay several days if you want.
Quiet at night, some local people during the day (some were very friendly).
Lake is very close and you can have bath.
There was no wind at all for us.
Please bring your papers and garbage with you ! Already too much poop among bushes.
Report Check-InExcelente lugar , muy tranquilo, sin luz ni ninguna comodidad, acceso directo al lago , buena cobertura 4g de claro (19mb) estuvimos 4 días , harto viento , sin protección .
Report Check-Innice views, was windy when we stayed and wind shelter for vans is not really available, but wind was defs way better than on the other side of the bay and kinda died over night. didnt need earplugs here while on the other side of the bay we wouldve defs needed them
Report Check-InNice plce here we are staying the second night here. You have a nice view for the lago argentino and a lot af free camping spots. We are lucky that we have no wind. 4G with claro
Report Check-InBeautiful place, quiet in the Night, stayed here on Thursday, great view on the city
Report Check-InBeautiful place, quiet, low bushes, hardly any wind protection. Good view of the lake and town.
Report Check-InCamped next to the abandoned (?) paint ball ground, parked just behind the fence on the beach. This was the only place in the whole of El Calafate we could find that had some decent wind protection for a rooftop tent. Take care driving on the sand further down; needed 4low to get out.
Report Check-InGreat quiet spot right on the lake. Had an amazing night with a warming little bonfire. cute spot tucked away between bushes (good for wind protection). Did a garbage clean-up before leaving as it was a bit dirty. Definitely recommend this place!!
Report Check-InNice place. We stayed for one night. Was very windy and dusty.
Report Check-InHad a quiet night here. No problems. Yes, some trash around but by now I am kinda use to it.
Report Check-Innice, but right there around me there are condoms, beer cans, plastics...
Report Check-InBeautiful spot next the lake with lots of birds around. Lots of bush cover (mostly low/medium bushes) and places to choose to camp in tent or Campervan. A little windy. Arrived at 5pm and were the only people here, did not see or hear anyone else during the evening/night.
Report Check-InArrived here at about 5pm, no other campers here all night and didn’t see anyone else during our stay. Lots of spots to choose from. Beautiful spot with views over the lake, wildlife and lots of bush cover and not too windy for us.
Report Check-InLovely to stay overnight or to spend the day - in winter lake frozen and you can skate! Hire skates for 60 ARP for 3 hours - on the other side of the lake where the white big house is...
Report Check-InFor a rooftop tent, not enough protected against the wind. Take care, there is some sandy place. We were stuck at 1am... it seems that we were not the first one. ^^ but if you follow the road, there is no problem to go there.
Report Check-Ingood place to stay if you want it quiet in the night, nice views and to be nearby the City. During the day (weekend) many locals spend time here with their family having asado and a nice day on the beach. the lake is very cold but with a beautiful color ;)
Report Check-InQuite area close to the lake. spent one night here and had a breakfast with a beautiful view over the city the next morning.
Report Check-InGravel beach not far from El Calafate. The locals come here to walk their dogs.
Report Check-InLarge area. Some bushes protect against wind. You can camp close to the lake shore. Windsurf, fish, relax here. A good boon dock option near El Calafate. Good for all rigs.
