Description

16 full hookup, level sites as well as 3 dry camping spots. New Mexico state parks are closed to non-residents because of quarantine restrictions, so there are fewer inexpensive places to camp. Unfortunately this place requires reservations by phone or internet and this review may not be allowed on this website. Full hookups are $18. Dry RV camping is $10. Tent sites are $6 per night. Sites 7 and 8 appear to be the best ones. Everyone has access to the flush toilets and hot water in the sinks. Good LTE on both Verizon and AT&T. Be careful about following GPS directions to get here because it may lead you astray, onto a ditch-runners' road that is unsuited to your vehicle. Check a map and scope out your route. MP 152 is your exit but for really tall or wide rigs, it's a nail biter getting through the underpass. 13'9" when the sign was posted but it may be less now! It looks *barely* 9' wide. The road is paved all the way to the park entrance. There is a playground and fishing onsite. A per-visit limit of number of nights will not exceed seven (7) consecutive nights; and, nights will be computed from date of arrival. For additional information, call the Manager's Office at (575) 835-0589 or the Lake Caretaker, Robert Tafoya (outside of normal business hours) at (575) 418-7350.

Latest Check-Ins

Quiet and clean as a whistle. No showers but there was hot water in the bathroom. Very pleasant. Order reservations online.

Report Check-In

Very clean. Everything seems well maintained. The pond/lake is beautiful with ducks and locals fishing.

Report Check-In

This place is decent for an overnight stay, but anything more than that is a bit of a waste. There is trash everywhere and the lake is the equivalent of a small pond. We did feel safe in the campground but the area around is pretty run down. Three bars of service with Verizon. We chose not to stay.
