Description

This well-off-the-beaten-path state park is the best place I know to experience the Chesapeake Bay. Nice campground with epic sunset views. Modern, clean bathhouses. All RV services.

Janes Island is a boaters paradise -- paddlers enjoy the narrow twisty trails through the marsh. Sailors and fisherman can launch to enjoy the open water of the bay.

The nearby town of Crisfield isn't much, but there are a handful of seafood restaurants and a good grocery store a short easy bike ride from the campground.

Nice state park. Cell service was good.Shower and bath houses were clean and heated with flush toilets. Fire wood for sale at camp store.Duty ranger to check you in and patrol site. Great sunset and wooded surroundings. Maryland surprised me with this one.

Very nice treed, well spaced park. BUT don't be fooled, there is no beach, unless you have a boat to get to the outer side of canal. You could swim in canal, but it's murky and has crabs and turtles. Showers and bathrooms great, staff leaves you alone, dog friendly. Site 83 is probably the best for view, privacy and waterfront. Sunsets are amazing!

Seriously lovely place. Off season I had it almost to myself. Great campsites if you are in a van, there’s larger pull thru RV sites but parking lot style. Also back-in sites in the woods. This site gets major storms and floods so check weather before booking. FYI Maryland “Golden Year” card pays for itself if you are over 62 in one visit. $10 lifetime card, discounts from Sunday-Thursday. Hot showers and the family bathroom is lockable for solo use. Great Park Rangers. Informative and nice. 2 bars ATT 4 on TMobile hotspot. Weak public WiFi Available via campground
