Description

Designated RV parking. Parallel parking unless you go closer to the park which has back-in spots just off the main road. The spots are not too level. Quiet area just a block from downtown. Lots of room even mid summer. Relatively quiet 10-06 and even a peek a boo ocean view. Short walk to the visitor center washroom as others mentioned.

Nous avons passé une nuit ici, aucun problème, quand même tranquille mais un peu de voiture passe mais rien pour empêcher le sommeil, de plus c’est près des murals et des restaurants ainsi que les toilettes public

We absolutely love this little tourist town. The parking looked out into a bay where there is a saw mill. We could here the mill running all night but it was not too loud at all. There is a theatre a very short walk that I’m sure helps bring tourists in. Had breakfast on the patio at the Willow Street Cafe. This is a dog friendly spot.

Wasn't level at all, but wasn't a big deal to us for one night. Just happy it was free and right in town. Quiet, surrounded by trees with stairs leading up into the park. Beautiful little town.

Great place for an overnight park, RV parking signs everywhere. We camped in our minivan with 3 other RVs there. Felt very safe. Quite a noisy place as the road is well used by locals but this didn’t bother us too much.

Close to town. Quiet at night. Street lights. Other long term RVs there. Good place.

Report Check-In

Free place to park that's it. Noisy street traffic in morning, noisy lumber yard right next to you and zero amenities. Just about every spot is on a big angle so bring blocks.

edit: finally found the washrooms up the hill beside the museum.

Parallel parking spots for RVs. Plenty of space to fit our combined (truck and travel trailer) length of 46 ft. Spots are too level, however, our Anderson levelers made up the difference. Really quiet except for a few cars passing by every so often. Quick walk to a park with bathrooms and water fountain. The air does smell like fresh lumber, logging industry, etc. but otherwise the RV spots are awesome and free so no complaints!

Spent 2 nights without any problem. It's a legal spot, there are signs inviting RV to park. Nice little city, spent day walking around to discover murals and visit museum. Nice cafés and bakeries to discover.

Stopped at the visitor center in town and asked about free overnight RV parking. They sent us here and said we could park for 24 hours. Lots of room for several RVs, big and small, although nothing was level. Quiet during the night.

Angled parking on Croft Street. Car camping — No signs that I can see. Arrived at 2am. Several vehicles.

Report Check-In

No ‘’no restrictions’’, not leveled spots, lot of traffic morning/evening but night is quiet.
Probably the warning of no restrictions was for winter only?

Report Check-In

Worked out perfectly. There are several RV parking spots just off the road near the visitors centre. View of the ocean. Quiet. And legal!

Stayed here without issue. The visitor centre is currently voluntarily closed due to COVID as BC is under travel restrictions. I snagged the last spot, but they're big RV spots, so my small van only took about 1/2 a spot. It's not completely level, so the spot I had was on a slight incline - wasn't too bad as I was able to back up within the spot to get pretty level. It's not a busy street, but there is a fair amount of am/ daytime traffic so not totally quiet.

Can confirm that this is a good place to stay. We have stayed here in our camper van several times since August (It’s Nov) for varying amounts of time and have not had a single problem. This is where we come when we need a place for a break where we know we won’t be bothered. There is a lady here who stays here year round in her motorhome and she’s been here each time we’ve stayed here. She seems nice and keeps to herself. It can be a little noisy here, but nothing I can’t sleep through. It’s a decent view of the water and smells like lumber and there’s lots of crickets which makes it super peaceful. There’s a public bathroom and a drinking water fountain a short walk away at the Visitor center and always lots of room to park. There is a park near the beach a short drive away and this parking spot is located near the ferry port. Chemainus is a quiet, safe, cute, quaint, friendly town and we aren’t really sure why more people don’t stay here!

Designated RV parking along Croft Street - no “no overnight parking” sign. Up the hill spots parallel to street for big rigs, more spots on both side of the street for vans and smaller RVs, one side shaded under trees. A local guy told me one lady stays there all year round and nobody bothers her. Super close to town centre and visitor centre with toilets (open 8am-6pm) and wifi. The signal reaches all the way to the parking spots on Croft. A bit noisy during the day, quiet at night.
