Description

A big beautiful sanctuary close to the city that’s run by the lovely Donald and Carla, with plenty of space (>10 nice shady or sunny spots) for tent campers or campervans. Big rigs (>3.5 m) might have to park outside as there are low hanging branches on the driveway.

We took a room as we needed to do laundry but Donald and Carla are happy to host campers. They have two cute kids and 6 dogs on the big property that’s surrounded by trees and a river you can fish in! fishing rods provided for free (:

Hot shower and outdoor kitchen (cool big space with grill). They will be upgrading further in the next few months so it will be more overlander friendly (with water, lights and more tables) but it’s already a very nice place and probably will be one of the nicest campsites in chile once fully converted.

Overlanders are very welcome!!

Place is NOT closed.

El Rincon is a beautiful place!! Highly recommended!! :) We came for 2 nights, stayed a week :).

Everything is said before. Good spots to park your van with electricity and water. An inside common area with kitchen. Good and clean bathroom with hot water.

The family is sweet and they have a little workshop, incase you have to repair something. Lovely dogs around.

WhatsApp/ call them before arriving. They have a locked gate at the beginning of there property with a sign "no camping". Motorhomes/vans are more than allowed but tents not. Overlanders are very welcome!

The perfect stop off spot for when heading north or south between Santiago and the lakes. Carla and Donny are magnificent hosts. We only wish we met them at the start of our visit to Chile!

10k per person was a bargain, hot clean shower no time limit and beautiful campgrounds. Surely they can’t treat everyone as well as they treated us!

Incredible place. Donny and Carla really do treat you like family. They’ve got a stunning place, tucked away amongst the trees. A highly recommended stop when heading north or south for campervans.

Secluded parking spots with benches, electricity, immaculate bathroom, a hot shower with no time limit and great water pressure genuinely) and good WiFi near the house.

Carla picked us up some meat from the smoke house before we arrived and offered to collect some veggies too. An actual gem of a Campervan site with the option to stay in some beautiful cabins to stay too. Hard to leave and worth a few nights. One of our favourite places in Chile.

It is a small hotel run by friendly Carla and Donald, wonderful hosts. We stayed at the rooms which are spacious, warm, clean and we used outdorr kitchen which they have set up at the property. It is
a vast space, with the river and a lot of trees, very family friendly. They accept overlanders (try to call in advance).

Great Eco Lodge with camping, a cabin and some rooms. Carla and Donny are great! We spent a week here and loved it! Internet is generally pretty good (starlink) but can go out if the weather is bad.

Can't tell how happy we are to have found this place (after weeks with all campsites closes for the season, horrible prices and unfriendly owners...). What an awesome place! Carla and Donald are amazing hosts! The property of the US - Argentinian couple is huge and in the middle of the nature. They offer camping (tent & cars), we paid 7000 Pesos ppn with our campervan. They live here with 2 kids and 4 dogs (very lovely!), bunnies, chicken etc. There's a river where you can fish for salmon and trout. The bathroom is amazing, hot showers and even a mirror ;-) You can use the common area for cooking, dining and relaxing. WiFi is available close to the buildings, but you also have some LTE with Claro. You can do your laundry (one load 10.000 Pesos). It really is a place to feel home. We're coming for one night, and stayed 4 nights in the end (and even more if we hadn't had appointments...).

there is no body, we traveled up to the place and no body, even worse no signal....all the same all around the south of Chile

Superb location, hot shower & lovely people 👍👍.

We stayed here for 1 night and think this campsite is absolutely amazing. The family is very welcoming. Everything you will need and more is there. The grounds are fantastic, with huge waiving trees. Highly recommended!

Report Check-In

We also had an amazing evening with the owners and other visitors, but only stayed that night because of a tight schedule. Really big rigs will have problems, but the "bottlenecks" are signalled and our mid-size made it through with caution.

Report Check-In

Nice and level place with shade, river and big trees. Donald and Carla make a great job in fixing this place. Although we don’t have a big rig, getting in and out was tricky; but Donald had no issue with cutting branches and fixing the bridge! Recommended!

This place is in the wrong location, but I'm not sure where it is!

Report Check-In

Tranquil spot and extremely generous hosts. The resident dogs are also a treat! A bit hard to find, but call or message for help if lost. We had a lovely shaded spot by a babbling creek that kept us cool on very hot day. Also use of a very clean private bathroom. 20,000 Clp per night.

As described by Fierydruid, great place and excellent stopover between Santiago and further south. Lush trees and a creek run through the property and the kids are charming. You will fall in love with the dogs who will come and ‘safeguard’ your rig ! Carla is quick with WhatsApp replies and Don is handy for anything electrical and has a small shop of tools if vehicle maintenance is needed. Good level parking but if you have a big rig call in advance and they will guide you down a nearby lane so you can park on the adjacent vacant lot ( which is easily accessible to El Rincon). It’s an easy place to stay longer than expected ! If you need a break from your rig, they have cabins as well. Water and power available at some sites. Super clean bathroom and hot shower. Wi-Fi is strongest near the cabin and the house. Highly recommended !
Note: Original GPS coordinates were incorrect showing property on the west side of the highway ( its on the east ), updates have been sent to IOverlander but have Carla send you a pin if in doubt. I have updated GPS on this check in ( at gate to property).
