Nice pull out on a quiet road! The view at sunset is amazing
Nobody bothered us, the night is calm, there is a bit of traffic around 5-7 pm
We had a lot of wind during out night
Great spot for a night in an area where there isn't a lot of option
Report Check-InThis place was magical! Got here at around 3:30PM, had our Thanksgiving dinner and took millions of photos of the sunset. Got super windy at around 9pm til midnight. The Revel was rocking in the wind! Very quiet and perfect!
Report Check-InGreat pull out, enough for big rigs or small. overlooking the lake. busy computer road in the evening but traffic died down after about 8:00 p.m. super quiet spot. there are several pull-outs along this stretch of road, this one is pretty level. gorgeous sunset view of the lake and the ocean. this one is called Penny Rock because of the large rock with pennies glue all over and a few dollar bills. It's very cool. 10 minutes from the ocean but secluded and had no hassles, woke up to two other RVs in the next pull out down but nobody by me.
Report Check-InIt could have been a great spot for us BUT…
We pulled in about 6:30 pm. We made dinner and watched the sunset and it was beautiful. About 8:30 pm somebody showed up in a white Tacoma with a camper shell. After about 20 minutes he started getting all crazy. He was parked 20 feet in front of us, facing directly at us. He began flashing his lights and shouting. “You want peace? Come over here and talk to me! This is my spot you f$&@ing tourist!” We eventually just wrapped up our van and went into Cambria and found a different spot. It’s the first time we experienced such a thing while living on the road in our van. Could have been beautiful BUT…..
Pulled over to take a nap and wait for the fog to clear up before I continued. No service, flat road, plenty of spots along the road to pull over. This spot could easily fit a large RV. No service no amenities. Moderate road traffic at 7am
Report Check-InBeautiful views of the lake. There are several pullouts most are decently big. No privacy from the road however. No amenities but great quiet stop for the night. Traffic on the road picked up a lot in the morning.
Report Check-InThis spot is way closer to the road than we expected given the previous comments. No Verizon cell service. We have dogs and so chose not to stay here because they would have to be leashes.
Report Check-Ingorgeous lake overlook, but there was trash... c'mon. if you park by penny rock, road noise is minimal. we had to bail out at 1am because the winds were just too gusty for our comfort. Felt like strong airplane turbulence in our 23' van..
Report Check-InThis place is amazing. Try to catch the sunset. We got here at 4pm, went for a walk, stayed overnight, went for an amazing 4 hour bike ride and left our truck and 22ft trailer here. No one bothered us. We met other ioverlanders at another turn out. There are lots of turnouts up here and lots of folks staying the night. No “no overnight” signs. Sadly, people are leaving lots of trash. Traffic totally disappears at 8. Great night
Report Check-InThere are a few pull offs on this road but this one is the furthest from the road itself. there is a rock here with hundreds of pennies glued to it.
The view of the sunset is amazing! It's very quiet here except for the crickets.
